The owner of the bakery should educate himself on the REAL history of Quebec and the contributions of the Anglophone and Indigenous communities before discriminating. Montreal has ALWAYS been a bilingual city for centuries. In fact Anglophones built Montreal along with their institutions 200 -300 years ago.Quebec has NEVER been just french. From: a HISTORICAL ANGLO.

This is a must go for anyone visiting or living in this city! One of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had. Their coconut pastry is soooo damn good! This place got a European vibe to it as well for those like me who would appreciate it ?

Rude service, the salmon on their sandwiches are grey so they're clearly selling food that isn't fresh except that if you ask them, they'll lie to you.A shame too, because brioche dorée in general have great pastries.

1st time here. Good quiche with jambon et fromage, and a well balanced hot Mocha! Nice customer interaction. 5* maybe on the future... Much to know yet!

Really good pastries and people are so nice.Don't miss out! Of course the owner is french and it is in a french province so it may be harder to get always fully served in English... But if you see those bad critics here, please keep that in mind. This is really a nice place and worth it !

I LOVE this bakery! The staff are charming and welcoming. The pastries are excellent and the prices reasonable. I never had any problems getting served despite the language barrier. ?

It is a very nice place! Everyone who works there is friendly and you really feel like you are in France. I recommend you to take the most cliché thing, a croissant ?. As a bonus, it's a great place to practice your French. ?

Everything in there is delicious. Great customer service. Loved the decor. I can speak both languages and he doesn't have to, especially if he doesn't feel at ease to do so. Quebec is french first, english second, if that's too much for you, 90% of continent is conquered by the english, you have options. -shrug-

Great customer service! French cafe that serves in both language, but still gives that extra super cool french culture. If you want english only, there are plenty of starbucks out there with their bad coffee.

Amazing bakery that I recommend for everyone. They deserve the 5 stars they get. Many customers going there are delighted by the quality of what the Brioche Doree serves. And their wide choice is just amazing.

Too pricey on top of verrrry bad customer service!Been to Europe and their croissant is not that good anyway. So ordinary.Said they don’t sell to people who speaks English ridiculous! He should’ve been living under a rock.Canada is proud to have a diversity of language and culture and food always bring people together.Don’t buy from this store people.Business owners who are rude and condescending should know how to respect other people regardless of culture or language.Saw the comments below and it’s all true!

If you expect to be respected by this establishment you are in for a surprise. If you speak ENGLISH they treat you like you amount for nothing. This is CANADA, I will happily speak the global language English and give my hard earned dollars to an establishment that respect me and sees the value of my dollar. You are in WESTMOUNT of all places and you refuse to treat English patrons? such a shame!

This is a place I come to regularly and I have always enjoyed the service and the pastries. I was surprised to read about the immensely ignorance of people being offended about being served in French ?! … I know that happy, educated and well mannered people would never make an issue over something so vain. Keep on with the great work Brioche Dorée.

Amazing service and fresh good products. Before entering Westmount, you do realize you are in Québec? You should have taken the time to learn both languages. Canada is bilingual and even more. Something called multicultural which makes our country special. Racism does not belong here. Stop being lazy just being mad and learn languages.the man did serve in English the poor guy slipped and spoke French a little by accident. I would think this is charming and special. I speak mixed French and English all the time it’s called Franglais.

Been there a few times, never had any issues. As for the Anglos bit***g here?Get a life for God's sake!Go and get yourself a tea or something, maybe it will calm you down. And being polite goes both ways - if the customer makes a tantrum, he/she should get a kick in his/her behind.
