Loved this little Japanese store in Westmount facing the Metro grocery store. They have authentic Japanese items to enjoy with. Pretty nice people in there too.

Fine Japanese food glossary shop.

A hidden gem in Westmount—this unassuming Japanese shop is a portal for cooking lovers. Quaint kitchenware, common ingredients, and warm service make it truly special.

Superb little shop to find specialty japanese ingredients and products. I often grab some of prepared meals, fresh sushi, omakase tray, nigiri or sashimi. I love finding some king salmon, or fatty tuna bally here sometimes! You can find quality matcha powder, and hojicha powder.

They also have onigiri, soba noodle salads, yakitori over rice, and miso soups, and cup ramen. For the last 2 options, you can add some hot water at the cash and eat at either of their 2 little tables. (It's just like you see in japan!)

They also offer sushi making classes and catering for sushi party trays!

We just did the sushi workshop (in French) with Don, and we loved it!! We come away with an astronomical quantity of sushi, know-how, ideas for combinations of ingredients, career anecdotes, there are varied ingredients at our disposal, the teacher is very good, patient, encouraging and we can help him ask lots of questions. I highly recommend it, it's extremely worth it for the number of sushi and what's more we know how to make them!!

Sushi is good, but I wish they would stop using styrofoam packaging and opt for something recyclable.

The girl at the casher doesn't speak a word. No "hi", no "thank you" for buying over priced items. There's better stores around if you are shopping Japanese ingredients.

the best sushi ever. I’m salivating just thinking about it. If this institution ever closes, I’m moving out of westmount mark my words.

Best Japanese Market in town IMO! My favorite one anyways..

There were quite a few seasonings, but not much else. (Sweets, drinks, etc.) Also, when I heard that they were selling sushi, I went to buy it with high expectations because I wanted to try it, but it was definitely something that Japanese people would never make. It was about $8 for a few small, thin rolls of starched rice (I don't even want to call it rice) like those sold at local supermarkets. Stupidly expensive. If you're going to call yourself a Japanese food restaurant, please make better sushi, even if it's a little more expensive. I was disappointed. Canadians may mistakenly think that this is authentic sushi.
