We picked up chicken fried rice and hot & sour soup from this restaurant earlier this evening. Both items were hot and came in reasonable portions, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, the fried rice was so salty it was practically inedible. That was supposed to be our main meal, and after a long day, we were really looking forward to something comforting. The soup was fine, but it didn’t make up for the disappointment. Not the experience we hoped for.

I don’t understand the negative reviews. I’ve been there dozens of times for lunch and found the food delicious. The service is super friendly also. Definitely one of my favourites!

I have visited the Shanghai Grill restaurant on several occasions. It is a pleasant place, and the staff is fantastic. I ordered in two different occasions Pad Thai, both time the Pad Thai was very, too salted. I will like to appeal to those responsible, Please pay attention to this matter.

I was at Shanghai Grill yesterday and, it was the most disappointing experience I have ever had in a restaurant.
I ordered the birds nest on the recommendation of the waitress, and when I received it, I found it insipid and the chicken was undercooked. When I spoke to the owner, I told him I would like to have this substituted for something else. He flatly refused with anger and said that I had ordered it and therefore could do nothing
As of result,, I paid my bill and walked out never to return again

First time at this restaurant. Shockingly bad food, for a place with lovely décor. Fried noodle sticks with a ketchup-based concoction posing as cherry sauce for dipping. The wonton soup was akin to a bowl of salt water, with a couple of tasteless wontons thrown in. When I bit into the vegetable egg roll, it surprisingly smelled and tasted like a combination of rotting meet and bleach. At this point I spoke to a woman in charge and told her the problem. She smiled and took my plate away without responding to my complaint. The peanut butter dumplings were okay so I thought I'd give the main dish a chance. She brought the main dish of vegetables and shrimp. Again, there was that familiar taste and smell of bleach coming from this gelatinous goo. After trying the shrimp, I had to spit it out because it was rotten. The fried rice tasted like it was fried with charcoal and black pepper. It was awful! They saw I wasn't eating and came over to ask me if I wanted it to go. I told her I CAN'T EAT THIS! She shrugged and told me that the food here is good, and that nobody complains, and gave me the bill. I will never go back.

This has been my local go-to for Chinese takeout since before COVID. Their food is consistently better than other places, the ingredients they use are top notch. Over the years I've tried a lot of dishes they offer and most have been standout renditions. I especially love their mu shu pork, Hunan dumplings, soups, and the table d'hôtes are a great value.

Vegetarian options: They have a variety of vegetarian options including soups, sides and main dishes

Parking: There's a parking lot around the corner between Ste Catherine and Dorchester, and ample street parking (metered)

Large order of $150 which is barely worth $40 elsewhere, lots of errors in the order. To

We loved our order of caramelized general tao chicken with steamed vegetables. I don't understand why people are complaining, it's one of the very good Chinese restaurants I've tried. Fast. Very reasonable price! I recommend :)
