The beehive is appropriateely named because there is always a buzz around it. If I’m looking for coffee and something to eat, and maybe a bit of local news or looking for something local to do I’ll stop by and check out their community board (Personally I think they have the most thorough community board in the area, I’ve found so much I had no idea was available locally from their board) they are usually busy and for good reason because they have lots of good food options for breakfast and a light lunch for reasonable prices and their coffee is just right :). I took my mom here shortly after moving back to the area and she loved it so much! The Baristas are always kind and thoughtful, they are great at knowing good recommendations off the top while keeping the line moving. I also like stopping here and if there isn’t space to sit at the cafe, I’ll walk down to Independence park and sip there.

Ok so this is hard for. Me because this is a small business and they give everything they have to be helpful and amazing. When we came in it turned out that they dont have vegan options. I was ready to give them one star and walk away when the server explained that they can take out the cheese and egg out and give me an empty breakfast burrito or a slice of bread with avocado for 6 dollars. BUT the server called nick the cook. A giant man with a big heart and the desire to feed the hungty annoying vegans and he was amazing! Nick make this breakfast dish that was super yummy and made a sexond dish which was bread with avocado and a black bean patty. It was delicious. So on one hand i thank nick for making us feel welcomed and i thank the servers they were very helpful. On the other hand please! Add to your menu a few vegan options so vegans can feel like they r welcome. If you are not a vegan this place is amazing. If you are a vegan come and talk to nick. Maybe if more of us will come they will add a few dishes. Also the view is amazing and its a short walk to the docks

This place is a gem for coffee and breakfast! The coffee is rich and flavorful—just what you need to start the day—and the breakfast burrito was delicious. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, and the staff are friendly and quick. A great spot to grab a bite, sip your coffee, and enjoy the morning.

I’m beyond touched by the kindness and class of the ladies running The Beehive Cafe. I was without my wallet and stopped in on my afternoon walk for a bite. My phone died as I was trying to use Apple Pay. I asked for a charger to complete the payment, and they came through with an iPhone charger and put my order through while we waited for my phone to charge. Finally charged up and about to pay, I found out that my new cards weren’t linked to Apple Pay properly. The ladies knew about their Venmo account, helped me connect to wifi, and took my payment with patience and respect all the while. I can count on one hand the number of times an establishment was this accommodating and friendly. Bravo, Beehive Staff!

The lattes were very good. The frozen smoothie did not have a lot of flavor. The breakfast sandwich had a delicious brioche bun, i personally don’t prefer lettuce and tomato on a breakfast sandwich.

This is such a cute place! Friendly staff, good coffee, and lots of gluten free options (ask the staff when you order, they even make their own gluten free bread). Highly recommended!

Small place with good coffee and eats. Upstairs and outdoor dining, or just take it to Independence Park at Bristol Harbor across the street. The people are always nice.
Love the Beehive! Prob my favorite hole in the wall spot in the area. Great place for breakfast or lunch or coffee/tea and treats. Everything I’ve had here was good. Counter service, staff is very friendly and available, nice laid back vibe with veggie options, indoor and outdoor seating. Kids love it too!
Finally stopped by the Beehive after passing it many times while in the area. Went with a breakfast burrito and added sausage. Thought it was okay. Not a fan of the sausage, would likely try bacon or something else next time. Gets a little pricey when you add and use the online ordering. $24 for a breakfast burrito needs to be a home run. Burrito and side of hash browns was filling.
Our group had an extremely disappointing experience at the Beehive Cafe this past weekend. We all placed online orders to be considerate and efficient, thinking it would help since we were a bigger party of 10 and didn’t see any open tables for such a large group at the time we ordered. When we finally received our food, the outdoor patio was completely empty, so we decided to take a seat. Immediately upon sitting down to eat the food we had just purchased, the owner came out and abruptly told us we weren’t allowed to sit there because the patio was for “dine-in only.”
While we understand if there’s a policy like that, the issue wasn’t what she said — it was how she said it. Her tone was incredibly rude, condescending, and completely uncalled for. She approached us with an attitude problem from the start, speaking to us in a way that was degrading and unnecessarily aggressive. What made it even more frustrating was that there wasn’t a single other customer on the patio or in line to order.
It’s really disappointing to be treated that way after supporting a small business. We won’t be returning, and I’d encourage others to think twice if customer service matters to you in any capacity. There are plenty of places with better food and basic respect.
The Beehive Café was honestly one of the first things that made my husband and me fall in love with the East Bay and want to move here. From the start, it just felt like home. Sherry (the owner) is so kind, and her team is always amazing — friendly, helpful, just good people. The food and drinks are always so good — truly 10/10 every single time. We recommend The Beehive to everyone we know, and we’ll keep doing that forever.
