BEST GLUTEN FREE DESSERT OPTIONS

Oksana

Recently had the dreaded Celiac diagnosis in my family.

We enjoyed visiting A & J Bakery. Especially at the beginning, reading ingredient labels is a little overwhelming. It was so nice to walk inside and know everything was safe to bring home.

We tried dessert at the counter, cheesecake and a cannoli, and purchased a few staple panty items. We also tested out the ravioli (which was great), and will be testing out the GF pizza crust next.

Overall very pleased to have this local alternative available.

My wife and I went to the CT Gluten Free expo back in the end of March. A&J Bakery had such a long line, that we were never able to try or buy anything. We had a trip to RI to visit friends and knew we had to take the opportunity to stop by and buy a few goodies. The guy who was there was very attentive, asked lots of questions, things we were looking for and all allergies we had. He was a real sweetie and appreciated his customer service. We got one of: Plain cheesecake, Chocolate Mouse pie, vanilla cupcake with vanilla frosting, box of variety biscotti, chocolate covered pretzels, cannoli, tiramisu, brownie with caramel butterscotch, and a chocolate Hostess cupcake. We split (almost) everything in half. My favorites are: Plain cheesecake, cannoli, tiramisu, and the chocolate hostess cupcake. We are dreaming of the day we are able to come back so I can get my dream of the cinnamon roll/bun and a few other things I was eyeing but knew this was enough. Highly recommend this place for your gluten free needs!

The lady was super kind.
We shared a joke.
She made suggestions.
All of the items I purchased were great.
Definitely going back

I love the sugar cookie because it doesn't taste too sweet. I usually can't eat pastries because they taste too sweet or have allergens in them.

I get their cheesecake almost every day at Randals farm in Ludlow ma. It is my favorite treat I’m addicted! Please send randals more regular caramel cheesecakes!! (Not caramel apple) it’s my absolute favorite! And plain and chocolate chip!! If you do I’ll buy a bunch of them 😁

When I found out this bakery was close to where I was staying I was incredibly excited! As a gluten and dairy free gal its so hard to find baked goods that are both. When I first read the reviews for A&J I wasn’t sure if it would be a flop or not. I called ahead to see what they had for options for a gf & and df girl and I was soo excited! The filling in the eclair was top notch and the pastry was the perfect texture! Places like these make me a feel a little less isolated for the food world. thank you.

To say I am obsessed is an understatement. After I found out I had nut & gluten allergies, I pretty much accepted that I’d never be able to eat baked goods again unless I made them myself. That was until I discovered A&J at Clements Market. How their desserts are allergen friendly & still taste this good is astonishing! You guys rock!

Ordered six large gingerbread men for my grandkids to decorate (one has a sever peanut allergy). Very thankful to find these - talked to someone before ordering who assured me they would be delivered in tact. NOT, two of them came in cracked. Multiple attempts (by phone and email) to contact them to try to order a replacement was for naught - no one answered the phone and no response to my email. While I may order again, because options for peanut free are limited, I do think customer service could be stepped up a bit.

They were at this year's Wicked Gluten Free South Shore expo. Very friendly folks running their booth. I bought an éclair from them, and it was DELICIOUS and not too sweet. I can't recall the last time I had a GF éclair. Heaven. Will keep them in mind next time I'm in the area of their shop!

I’m not very happy. I’ve always gotten deserts from here and the past two times I’ve been coming here for many years and I must say I’m very disappointed the past two times my deserts have been stale and tasted old. I will not be coming back again. I don’t know what’s going on but everything used to taste fresh

Shady business practices , there are no prices on any of the products nor are prices made public at all. The girl working told me if I wanted to know how much anything in the store cost I would have to ask her. That’s obnoxious, no thank you . I will take my business and cash somewhere that honestly displays their pricing
