When I first moved to Rhode Island, Beans & Buns was one of those rare places that made the state feel like home.
The staff are down to earth and make an effort to get to know their regular customers. Their drinks and sandwiches are worth the slightly higher price point because they are very intentional with each menu item. I highly recommend the SEAT sandwich (Sausage, Egg, Arugala, Tomato); the dijonaise is delicious and the bread is toasted evenly every time. The Bun sandwich is the perfect bite in the morning: bacon, apple, brie, and brioche. Also, the Turkey Avocado sandwich makes an excellent lunch. They always have a rotation of seasonal offerings from baked goods to beverages. They keep things simple but their focus on quality is undeniable.

Cute little spot. Love their coffee drinks and really good sandwiches. Disappointed that when ordering for pickup I paid for the EAAT sandwich with avocado, veg, etc. but only got an egg and cheese. I don’t usually order food for pickup, not sure if it was an issue with their ordering system.

Food is always great. Service is good. However, when there is a line out the door, online orders should be deprioritized. Being in line for 25 minutes only to have an online order take what you have been waiting for is pretty ridiculous. Prioritize the people in front of you.

Love Beans and Buns! The coffee is always spot on, pastries and treats are always delicious, and staff is always so helpful and kind. It’s a small place and the line can be out the door some mornings, but completely worth the wait. Order online if you wanna skip the line!

Food was good, coffee was not. They need to dial in their espresso more consistently, I’ve gotten an espresso here twice and both times it was under-extracted (borderline undrinkablely sour and cardboardy)…which is a shame because New Harvest coffee is good stuff. Normally I would let the barista know but the service didn’t seem that friendly to start with and I don’t think it would have been received well. It probably wouldn’t be that noticeable in a latte or something, but I hope for better when buying specialty coffee.

Overall a fantastic experienced, it’s a must stop for every time I am in the area! Warm, friendly and patient staff who craft a wonderful environment. I could meet here with friends to catch up and also bring work to sit and do while enjoying coffee and some of their delicious food.

Absolutely loved this spot! The cinnamon bun was incredible. The baklava matcha was nutty and tasty. I wasn’t expecting to love the matcha so much here, the cafe has a lot of creative flavors I will be back to try!
