I recently visited Cafe Ava and had a fantastic experience, thanks in large part to the wonderful service. The coffee was excellent and the atmosphere was cozy and inviting, but what really made my day was Samantha. She was so friendly and genuinely seemed to love her job. She gave me a great recommendation for a drink and was incredibly efficient, even though the cafe was busy. Samantha's positive energy is contagious, and she's an absolute rockstar. I will definitely be back, and I hope to see her again!

Loved the Latin vibes in this cafe. We had the Flan and House Lattes, Guava Lemonade and Cuban Sandwiches. The little caramel shortbread cookies were also a delicious treat.

My first time trying them. I'm from Boston and this trip was worth it. I don't drink coffee but I tried their Tres Leche Latte.... amazing. I had their Tres Golpes was so bomb.

Wish they had more seating but the cafe is so beautiful with all the colors and Latin music and art everywhere. I noticed no restrooms but hopefully if they had a larger place they could get a unisex restroom for customers. Highly recommend them. A good take out of sit down if they have seats open.

I'm glad I don't live closer because I would be there everyday. I'll make sure to visit every time I'm in RI.

If you’re looking for one of the best coffee shops in Cranston, RI, Café Ava is a must! Their coffee is excellent—I love the flan latte and any of the matcha specials, with the tres leches latte as a close second. For food, the guava and cheese empanada, banana bread and chicken chimi are my favorites. There’s usually a line, but it’s well worth the wait at this cozy Rhode Island coffee spot!

I visited Café Ava for the first time and unfortunately found a long hair in my coffee. The staff said sorry and made a new one, but their response felt casual, almost as if this wasn’t out of the ordinary for them. It left me with concerns about health and sanitation standards. Typically, businesses reimburse or offer compensation for situations like this, but that did not happen here. What I drank from the coffee was good though.

I can’t believe I haven’t written a review yet!
I moved to Rhode Island in November of 2024 and was really sad that I was leaving behind my old daily routine.

Cafe Ava 100% got me out of that weird funk. Going to them in the mornings, and even throughout the day is always a highlight. The staff are more than incredible - they’re kind, funny, and are always so on top of their game even when the line is reaching the door.

Their recommendations for drinks is something else because I’ve never not liked something they’ve recommended. I’ve also truly never gotten to experience Latin beverages/food/desserts before and it’s beyond description - just, absolute chefs kiss. If you’ve never had an arepa, I’m begging you to get one.

Seriously it’ll change your life.

They’ve become a part of my daily routine and I’m so grateful to live so close that I can enjoy them as much as possible - would forever recommend them and I will continue to be a regular for the foreseeable future.

:)

I’ve visited this cafe three times now, hoping each time for a better experience, but unfortunately, the customer service has consistently been so unwelcoming and it's usually from the person taking the order. I’m not sure if it was just me, but I never felt comfortable or valued as a customer. It got to the point where I didn’t even bother getting a drink last time I visited, despite how amazing they looked. I just grabbed an arepa and left.

It’s so unfortunate because I genuinely love their concept and the menu seems so creative. I hope they take feedback seriously and work on creating a more inviting atmosphere for everyone, not just for some.

I had this food at other places and it’s usually more spicy. Not sure.

Great little local coffee shop in Cranston, RI. We ordered the house iced latte, the og breakfast sandwich, and a cortado. Everything was solid, especially the iced latte and sandwich. The cortado was a bit watery, so next time I’d stick with an iced drink, which seems to be their specialty. Nearly everyone coming in was ordering large iced drinks, so that’s clearly the go-to here. Their pastries and such look amazing as well.
