It’s disappointing when a nice evening with friends is spoiled by poor service, especially when someone in a managerial position, like Barbara, escalates a situation unnecessarily. The fact that she interrupted my time with friends and made things tense for everyone around us is a red flag for sure. It’s also concerning how she treated the staff and didn’t take responsibility for the mix-up. You’d expect a manager to de-escalate issues, not escalate them, especially in a setting like that. It was a situation where professionalism and empathy were sorely lacking. I hope the restaurant It can make adjustments, especially if Barbara’s approach is affecting the experience of customers and the staff. Her attitude, demeanor and argumentative presence ruined a special evening. Shame on you Barbara and Same on you Caffe Itri for hiring such a horrible person to represent your establishment!
my bucket list includes going to Cafe Itri.
We felt really rushed by our waitperson. We weren't finished with our appetizer and she brought our mains over. She was over checking which made us feel as though she wanted to wrap things up and go home. Never had that experience before at this restaurant.
Food and service are always good. Rarely see kids there, thankfully.
I ordered a tray of tiramisu for my sister’s birthday and the staff were so accommodating with the order. Special shout out to JC who has been making it for 30+ years — it’s hands down the best tiramisu we’ve ever had, definitely best in the state (probably the whole northeast!). Cannot thank the team at Caffe Itri enough, it was DELICIOUS and my sister was so so happy!!
Went early on a Saturday night (5:30) with a reservation for 4 and were seated immediately. I had the Veal Parm, it was good although I think it was a bit burnt on the bottom. Wife had the Chicken Parm. Both came with ziti. Also ordered were the Chicken Marsala, and a Baked Ziti dish. I do feel its a bit pricey for what you get, not to mention a starter Caesar Salad is $16. We had gift cards to use so that was the main reason for going. We had been here prior and I thought it was better the first time we visited. I heard there are new owners.
Expensive for what you get. There are better places in the area with better prices.
When going to a restaurant you rank it by food, service, and atmosphere but if food is just ok you look for other avenues. The food here used to be top notch. Its mediocre. The veal chop was horrible, touch and full of grizzle and nerves. The pasta special with broccoli and meatball’s was flat , no flavor and over cooked broccoli. Such a disappointment.
Quite disappointing. Not as good as it used to be. First, they did not have my reservation even though it was confirmed by Opentable. Because of this, we were seated all alone in an empty room even though all the tables in the main dining area were empty. Secondly, they have now instituted upcharges to split a salad ($2) and $4 to substitute pasta for potatoes and vegetables. Seems more like nickel and diming you than what used to be a great restaurant. The only good thing I can say is that our waitress was excellent.
I live it Garden City, but I've been there a few times. Not my thing I guess. The food is good, not great. Good atmosphere though.

Four of us went there 2 weeks ago Friday never go back there again food was horrible they lost all there kitchen help had to send 2 dishes back chicken couldn’t cut it with an ax plus was 2 inches thick ravioli was frozen in side that’s when waitress told us all new kitchen help, few of my friends said the same thing there done with that place to many good Italian restaurants in the area !!!
I hate to be this person, but I absolutely had to leave a review after getting food poisoning from this restaurant. I had a pasta dish with chicken for my entree, the fusilli chicken scallopine. I took two bites of the chicken and immediately spit it out and told my friend “that’s not cooked.” I don’t like to be that person, I opted to just eat around the chicken, eating the pasta and veggies instead that came in the dish (big mistake). I regret not telling the server and having it taken off the bill, but I was trying to be polite. Fast forward to when I got home that night and threw up 15 times!!! I’m sorry to leave this review. Our server, Adriana, was super nice and attentive. This is a kitchen error 100%, either how they cooked the chicken or how it’s stored, or spoiled… I am leaving 2 stars instead of 1 because I did enjoy other aspects of the meal! My friend and I shared the stuffed mushrooms for an appetizer and the tiramisu for dessert, both of which were tasty. My friend got the lobster ravioli which she really liked! I wish I said something about the chicken at the time of the meal. Hopefully the owners will see this and step up food safety to avoid further experiences like this.
Delicious food, great atmosphere. Not rushed. Apps with dinner and dessert took about 3 hours. Right in the heart of historical Knightsville village in Cranston RI.
Phenomenal experience Caffe Itri is the best Italian restaurant in PVD. Caffe Itri is one of my personal favorites of all time. The dining experience was so enjoyable from start to finish.
Rose was a truly enjoyable server who was kind incredibly respectful and had perfect recommendations.
We had the braized short rib, veal with pumpkin sauce, stuffed artichokes for our app, and the spumoni and creme brulee for our desserts.
All of the portions were wonderful and even had leftovers.
I will be back, and Rose deserves a raise. Thank you Caffe Itri for a wonderful dining experience
Dined here for my wife's birthday. The dining room near the bar is so warm and welcoming. We didn't ask to be near the fireplace but we were lucky to have been seated near it. The wine list is great. The food is outstanding. The waitress we had was unbelievably nice and thorough. The manager even came by during our dinner to ask how it was going. Definitely will return!
