We picked this place for dinner as it happened to be near the Zoo, and we were attending the Jack-o-Lantern spectacular there. Wow, what a hidden gem!!! The restaurant is small and cozy with a nice atmosphere. The food was really delicious! I had a brussels sprouts salad with dried cherries, marcona almonds, and crispy chicken (sooo yummy!); my friend had gumbo and liked her dish too. The waitstaff was friendly, the food arrived promptly, and prices were reasonable. We will definitely be back again, the next time we are in the area

Makmak is hands-down my favorite spot! We keep coming back, and somehow everything just gets better and better each time. The food is always fresh and full of flavor and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. Not only is brunch amazing, but dinner here is just as incredible. Truly the best place in town for a delicious meal any time of day! Highly recommend!

My husband & I went for the first time last night and I can’t say enough about this place. From our server (Liz) who also was the one who made our margaritas that were phenomenal!! And the food,chicken Marsala & chicken picatta to the apple crisp desert & a great cup of coffee. If you have not tried it here you are missing out on a great restaurant. We will definitely be regular customers 😊

Best restaurant! I have tried the fish and chips, pink vodka, chicken Marsala, creamy chicken, wings, salads, burger, chicken sandwich, salmon, and brunch. Everything is so delicious! There is not a bad item on the menu. I go at least once a month! The service is also amazing.

It was such an amazing experience going to makmak!! I hosts were very nice and the waitresses were on top of everything. It felt comfortable to be able to sit and eat and chat with friends. The food was cooked to perfection and the dessert was delicious!! I highly recommend to go for lunch with some friends or even a date night!

My husband brought me some food I requested while he was at Makmak with his friends, and even after traveling and reheating, it was still delicious. I insisted we go together at some point, and I got to see for myself that this place is absolutely deserving of all hubby’s praise. When we went, I was dealing with hip pain and walking with a cane. I was worried about it ruining my visit, but the kind hostess offered me a cushion as soon as walked through the door. The ambiance was hip but not pretentious, and my dish was even tastier fresh out of the kitchen. Their food and drink menus feature a lot of unique flavor combinations, and everyone working there was so lovely. We’ll definitely be returning for brunch!
