This restaurant has excellent food, fresh and with the best flavor in your mouth.
Without some improvement, It won't be around for long.
It's clean, I'll give it that. Decor is pretty much the same as every new generic Mexican restaurant these days, bright colors, overly lit, painted skulls, painted faces of ladies. Not knocking that, but a little originality would be a nice change. Booth seat was a bit of a sinker. Latin hip-hop music was really loud and distracting. Server was attentive and items came out quickly, but nothing was hot. Cadillac Margarita was not quality. Diet Coke was a bit flat. No complimentary chips and salsa, so we ordered it for $3. Chips were generic bulk brand tasting as was the salsa. When you pay for Chips and salsa they should be better quality. I would actually pay more for better quality chips and salsa in a heartbeat. We ordered the same entree, the namesake Enchiladas Mexico City, a combination of three different enchiladas with three sauces, a fairly common menu item in most Mexican restaurants and usually never a disappointment, except for this one. Three small, lukewarm, meagerly filled, blue corn enchiladas, with a scant amount of sauce and a tiny bit of partially melted cheese on each one. They were served with a bowl of beans, so thin it was drinkable, some run of the mill salty rice, and easily the worst guacamole I have ever tasted outside of convenience store squeeze pack. Everything was overly salty. I can't recall ever being this disappointed with an enchilada plate. Sorry for a downer review, but this place can do better.
I don't think they will be giving our usual favorite, El Tapatio down the street any competition.
Very unhappy with the food. We ordered take out I had three soft shell tacos that look like a 5-year-old made them and the rice and beans I've seen dog vomit that look more appetizing very disappointed I did not eat it. I know it's a busy holiday weekend, but if you can't do it don't.
Mexico city is terrible with flavorless depression tacos lol the salsa tasted like ketchup. The hot sauces weren't hot, even the diablo and habanero lol watered down 20 dollar margaritas and a waiter we only seen twice lol what a waste of money!
I been around for some time. Been in lots of Mexican food .restaurants And here is the place ! WOW Amazing food and service and atmosphere. Guys please try this place . My family and I really enjoyed . ! THANK YOU !!!!’
I can't say anything bad about the food it was fresh and hot. My husband enjoyed the fajitas skillet and I had the steak tacos. The server was very pleasant and quick with refills. The restaurant itself was cute inside and the bar area had lots lights in different colors. The drinks are huge.
authentic flavors of Mexico here in Cranston, RI. Service is pretty good, menu is packed with options to choose from. I suggest getting the carne asada, it was good.
Fantastic spot—highly recommend! Diego is an excellent bartender, always on point and personable. The food is great and completes the experience. Keeps me coming back.
Tried Mexico City in Cranston and had a great experience! The service was excellent — friendly, attentive, and fast. The food was fresh and flavorful, with solid portions and great presentation. Definitely a spot I’d recommend if you’re craving good Mexican food in a laid-back, welcoming atmosphere. Will be back for sure!
Great service, fantastic margaritas and food was fresh and delicious

On a positive side, the menu offered plenty of options making it difficult to decide. We loved watching the staff make guacamole right at the table. My teenage son, being used to Chipotle burritos, was disappointed he couldn't pick up his burrito to eat it. A couple of members of our party found the steak in their meals difficult to chew. While the portions were quite large, my problem with my food was with the lack of flavor. My steak and shrimp fajitas lacked seasoning, as did the rice. The refried beans were extremely thin and soupy, impossible to eat with a fork. Although I was happy not to cook dinner last night, I am confident I could cook tastier fajitas at home complete with seasoning, lime, and a whole lot of flavor.
I came here with my family and the food was pretty good. We got sat pretty quickly, and the food didn't take too long to come out. They had some yummy drinks, too (non-alcoholic). The kids enjoyed their food, but they ate more of mine.
The first visit was really good. I had the enchilada plate and the food did not disappoint.
This second time the food was not that impressive. I had the fajita skillet plate and it was ok. A friend ordered the pozole which was not good at all per both of us and made both of us nauseous. They make this fresh salsa at the table which is really delicious. I'm sure they have some other good plates but as of now this is what I have tried.
Very subpar Mexican food. Not worth going back a second time.
Delicious food
