Was in earlier with friends and it took over an hour for our food to come out. Appetizers never came. We received remarkably poor service. Rosie our server never filled our waters in the 2 hours we were there. We will not be returning. Disappointed to say the least as we ended up late to our show and no comp or apology was offered.

What has happened to this place? We went last week and the menu was essentially cut in half with zero specials and the food was extremely bland and disappointing. I consider this place a special treat and it absolutely fell flat. I hope that something gets fixed so that I can return as the service is great but that doesn’t fix subpar food.

This was a very small place but actually better than I expected I really enjoyed the service it was wonderful the food was actually very good I would say this is a bar with an upscale feel pricing is just right very good drinks definitely a good place to go then go enjoy the show next door at the comedy club

Review update 11/16/24: Still rocking at a very high 5 stars 6 years later. Great food, expertly made drinks, and exceptional service.
Original review: Went there for the first time with a group of 10. They were very accommodating. Fast service. The tavern is very clean and nicely decorated. Smaller menu, but everything on it is expertly crafted.
The drink selection, on the other hand, is very diverse. They have the many different types of beers on draught and bottled, including local brews. The mixed drinks were very well made.
We had gone close to my fiancée's birthday, so I had wanted to have a cake for her. They happily took the cake I brought in secret, dressed it, delivered it to the table, and server it for us.
I was very impressed with this establishment on all fronts, and highly recommend a visit.
Awful experience. Good luck getting acknowledged at the bar to get a drink!

Alright story time. 11 years ago I worked at a nightclub called the colosseum. While working there I met this beautiful quirky girl but unfortunately she was taken but some undeserving fella. Fast forward to November 2, 2024 and I have this wonderful date night planned for our first date 11 years in the making. Meet at the black duck tavern for drinks and appetizers before a comedy show. Straight out of a rom com. Date is planned for 5:45 and I get there at 5:30 so I can get us a nice spot at the bar and have a drink to settle the old nerves. I tell Rebecca I am waiting for someone so she sets up two menus and gets me my drink. Time is passing and it’s getting closer so I put in another drink and appetizers so they will be out when said date gets there. I believe the young woman’s name was Sadie that took that order. She proceeded to put out one small sharing plate and one set of utensils. It’s all good. I didn’t tell her I was waiting on a date. So I ask her to please get another set up at her earliest convenience. Which she eventually did. My date shows up, I lay in the charm and jokes and it’s all going well. Here comes Sadie to rain on my parade. She couldn’t believe my date showed up. Apparently that was the reason for the one plate. Safe to say the reeeeest of the night went on without a hitch no thanks to the absolute blow to my ego at the hands of Sadie. The food was delicious. The drinks were great. The bartenders have a certain charm if you’re into that. I’ll be back.

Fun, cozy bar spot with good food and good options for non-alcoholic IPAs. I've been here several times before and always loved the food. This time around I got the pulled pork nachos and my partner got a burger. Nachos were excellent!
The restaurant is currently undergoing "menu renovations" so their food selections are limited at the moment. To the kitchen at Black Duck Tavern, bring back the chicken and waffles!
Parking: We came when the restaurant wasn't busy and their parking lot was still busy. You may need to depend streetside parking on a busy night.
