3rd generation owned family restaurant. They were terrific. I had goat shank. So delicious. We started with steamed clams in a very garlicky white sauce. Finished dinner with Flan. Our server was the son who not only works there but very knowledgeable fisherman. Definitely a repeat.

I would give it a five star, but 4 stars is more realistic. This place is the most authentic Portuguese restaurant in New England. I suggest anyone who wants authentic Portuguese food with great service. This is the place to come to. Reminds me when I go back to the mother land (Portugal). Love this place

We had dinner and the food was excellent. Every dish was delicious. Unfortunately, the service from our primary waitress did not match the quality of the meal. The main waitress consistently ignored our requests and didn't properly serve us the entire evening. Her coworkers pretty much assisted us although we were her assigned table but we weren't her priority. Her coworkers were attentive bringing the items she neglected and ensured we had what we needed. This attitude from our waitress (Samantha) definitely had a negative impact on our dinner which was suppose to be a special celebration for our family. I did not order dessert or any additional drinks which I normally would have because the entire experience was so disappointing.
As regular patrons of O Dinis, we’ve always appreciated their food, but unfortunately, our recent visit on October 19, 2025, was a major letdown. We dined as a group of four, including some friends visiting from Europe, and they were equally disappointed with the meal. I ordered the grilled fish, and it arrived looking like a charred mess—overcooked to the point of being inedible. My colleague’s fish was similarly dry and overdone. His wife had the octopus dish, which was a huge disappointment. The octopus was practically nonexistent, buried under a mountain of filler like potatoes and frozen vegetables. For the price of over $45 per person (with tip), it felt more like a $20 meal at best. It’s incredibly frustrating to see a place that used to deliver consistently good food slip in quality like this. The service, however, was excellent—our waitstaff was attentive and efficient, which is the only redeeming quality of the night. Given the high prices and the disappointing food quality, we won’t be returning. O Dinis used to be a great spot, but it no longer meets the standards we’ve come to expect. Unfortunately, I can't recommend it based on our recent experience.

Food is good but my take out order took over than an hour. The place was packed tightly and they seemed short staffed. When I finally received my order, it was wrong and I had to wait again until they corrected it. Again, the food was very good and the experience wasn’t bad enough that I wouldn’t go back. Hopefully, next time will be a little better.
