Maria recently made the cake for our wedding down the Cape last month, and WOW did she do an incredible job! Not only was the cake hands down one of the most delicious cakes I have ever eaten in my life (and I have eaten a lot!) it was also absolutely stunning. Throughout the entire process, Maria was wonderful and patient--listening to all our ideas and questions and giving us helpful feedback. I cannot recommend The Illuminated Oven enough for any event you have coming, you will not be disappointed!
At the time of my wedding I had a long list of ingredients I needed to avoid not to mention my husbands food allergies. Maria was able to create some truly amazing flavors for us to sample that were not only gluten free, soy free and nut free but also free of dairy ( for the most part) that tasted better then the real deal stuff. She's a magician when it comes to allergen friendly baking. I loved my wedding cake. It was beautiful, delicious and gluten free. Perfect trifecta which is hard to come by. Thank you times a million.
Thank you for making the most delicious GF cake I've ever had. I am still dreaming about its fluffiness! It was a coconut sacher torte cake with coconut extract with chai buttercream layers. Maria was very easy to work with, just a few emails back and forth, and was exactly what we asked for.
5 stars: going for gift-box nougats for gifts this December, 2014. (Travel well).
Thank you Illuminated Oven for the fantastic "cracker jack" flavored cake for our little boy's first birthday party! It was perfect for his baseball themed party. Delicious!
I had originally contacted Illuminated Oven to make a 6th birthday cake for my niece. It turned out perfectly, with zebra stripes and pink flowers with a big #6 on top all in fondant. I'm not a big fan of sweet stuff but the cake got me hooked. It was coconut cake with raspberry filling. We loved it so much, that my fiance (now wife) and I asked Illuminated Oven to do our wedding cake and our favors. We had the coconut cake with lemon curd filling plus a gluten-free grooms cake to match as we both have family members who are GF. We had no idea they did confections, but at the cake tasting we decided to do the Italian nougat for favors. Everything was beautifully presented and I was really impressed with how the owner worked with us. Of all the headaches we had planning the wedding, the cake was not one of them.
