Marissa was our waitress - it was her first week on the job and she was wonderful! She was efficient and very friendly. Food came out reasonably fast and was very good. this was our second time at JB's and we'll be back@
Stopped by for lunch around noon. It was a quiet afternoon and we were able to sit outside. Our server, KC was great and our lunch was very tasty. I had a burger and my husband had the Short Rib Grilled Cheese. The only thing that could have been better was a little more short rib in the sandwich. Overall a good lunch and excellent service. We would go back again :)
Great experience. Service was excellent. We had Maple White Russians with cinnamon sugar and caramel around the rim. They were awesome! Creamy clam chowder was the best I've ever had — chock full of clams and potatoes. Calamari was also good. My friend had the salmon. Also very good.
Two of ordered same cocktail. Both were served without ice, as they should have been, but one was literally half of the other. When we sent them back, we caught the bartender adding ice to them, more to one than the other, to make them appear as equal pours S H A D Y
We were 3 older women seated next to a back exterior door. Wait staff and customer kept coming in and out, banging the door and jostling me who was closest to the door. The music was too loud and raucous as were the customers. Not pleasant.
I had reserved a corner table by the bar with James at JB's to celebrate our 44th Wedding Engagement Anniversary. When we arrived we saw that the requested table was occupied. Not waiting to cause a problem we opted for another table. Turns out that table was directly outside the kitchen and adjacent to the door into the Lobby & Bathrooms. We had our drink and appetizer at which time out frustration reached it's limit such we decided to leave. Very unfortunate and we made a reservation at The Meritage in East Greenwich which turned out to be the right decision! We may not go back to JB's as it seems people are objects to be moved around like chess pieces, i.e. pawns, and that's unacceptable. What a shame ... Scott & Bobbi Teller
we frequent JBs regularly. The food is always warm, consistent, plentiful and delicous. The only flaw in an otherwise perfect JB's world remains the location of the ladies' room - miles away from every single one of the numerous dining areas.
Food always is so so, but I like the restaurant, so I go there. I have a feeling that some of their food is bought alreay made and frozen, coulkd be wrong.
I was very disappointed with my experience. When we arrived at our reserved time our table was not ready and was told we needed to either wait 15 to 20 minutes or sit outside. The service was subpar: we had to ask for silverware, napkins and plates for our shareable; when our meal arrived it was luke warm to cold (when I mentioned it to the server she seemed indifferent); my decaf tasted burnt and my husband's coffee was cold. Additionally, the server didn't remove empty glasses or cups.
Love going to JB's On The Water. The food, service and views from the deck are all fantastic!

We arrived at the restaurant early, gave our name, and were told it would be about 5 minutes.. We were told could grab a drink at the bar while waiting. We went to the bar, we sat there for 5 minutes before the bartender acknowledged our presence and then said “do you need anything”. I asked for a drink menu, we ordered drinks and they were very good, so kudos there. After about 35 minutes I went to hostess as we noticed parties that came in much later than us were being seated. I inquired as to why this was happening. The young hostess, who was very polite was apparently on break when this was happening informed me she was not sure how that happened. After expressing my extreme frustration, we were finally seated. The food is amazing, and again, the drinks were very good when we finally got them. I just feel this restaurant is completely disorganized in front of house, and the bartender is rude. The experience did not spoil us for our live of wickford on the water, the sister restaurant. We will stick to going there in the future as the service is always consistent and most importantly, friendly and professional.
Beautiful of the Harbor and the Newport Bridge. Menu offered a nice.variety. The Clamcake appetizer was outstanding with 2 moist cakes and lobster claws. The fish tacos were stuffed with crispy fried. Waitstaff was attentive and personable. It was my first visit but won't be my last.
Great setting on the water. Nice ambiance in dining room. Reasonable prices Not an extensive menu.would like more fish &seafood offerings. Food prepared well & presented well
My food tasted good, but served quite sloppy. My family didn't like the food (salmon was not good for example).
A little disappointing, stated clearly for a birthday, no mention of that, when you made reservations, you could pick brunch or not, but when you got there you could order from brunch menu only, service was a little lacking, forgot drinks, ordered app, no dishes to serve from, water was hard to get. We have been many other times and have always been very happy, which is why I picked it for our family luncheon!!!! I don't think I would rush back. Some meals were good, others not.
