We could not have asked for a better lunch on Sunday. The food, staff and warm winter ambiance were just right for friends getting together for lunch
This is my 3rd time dining at Standards and they always exceed my expectations. From food to the hospitality, Standards is just what the town of Jamestown needed. The owner, Jake Guerin, also showed his appreciation to every dining customer which is rare amongst restaurant owners, but very nice to see. I will definitely be back, but if you have not visited this establishment, I would add it to your list!
We were happy to find a restaurant that offers GF options for our diet. The server was very acommodating offering a taste of the wine before pouring the full glass. We enjoyed the entire meal. I would encourage the restaurant to have GF desserts as well.
Very festive and comfortable atmosphere. It's like having dinner with friends, everyone is was so friendly. Staff was attentive even though the place was packed. Food was excellent, nice throwback with the Lobster Thermidor. Buck-a-shuck oysters were a pleasant surprise and yum! Lattes to-go were much appreciated for the cold ride home!
I wish I could leave a reviewabout the food, but we didnt get that far. I had planned on Christmas Dinner with the family. Made reservations and they were confirmed. We got there and they were closed. On any other day it would have been no big deal but it was Christmas and this was the plan. Worst experience. Who ever was supposed to close the reservations failed. Who ever is supposed to check the confirmation failed. That is step 1 of service. If you cant get it right before the customer walks in the door what expectation of service when we get there, Thanks but no thanks.
Very nice, cozy atmosphere. Our waitress was very good but overall service in restaurant seemed chaotic with lots of young, new staff. Food was good/very good but prices seemed high for portion size.
The food was sub par for the price. We sent food back as it was not prepared properly... and the seared tuna was old and grey... and they served it. Very overpriced, small portions and just ok. They may be a known as a burger place.
Standards is my new favorite go-to restaurant in Jamestown. I typically order the Smash Patty Burger and a Guinness, and it typically does not disappoint. We found the service at our recent visit to be very slow. I think the server was new. He would benefit by checking in and letting us know the status of our order. We waited 40 minutes before our meals dropped. Diners at nearby tables who arrived after we did received their meals before we did. When our meals dropped, the Papardelle Bolognese was cold. It won't keep me from returning but maybe you can use this as training tips for new servers.
Lovely, warm decor - great service and food - we went on Saturday night in Nov and it was packed. I huge upgrade from the previous restaurant that occupied that space, and a great addition to the Jamestown community of restaurants.
When we were seated for dinner the lights in the dining room were extremely bright. I asked if they could be lowered because I felt like I was being interrogated! Our waiter happily obliged. Not happy with the pour of wine in our glass. A 1/3 pour,What happened to the rest of the wine? Pasta Bolognese was excellent!

we were there the first week it opened and have been back pretty much at least once a month on average... It has evolved with its menu and understanding how to serve its clients... And make a good drink! It is a comfortable community space that is divided up well and will be a regular on our restaurant tour in Jamestown. Exceptional Caesar salad.
The steak frites were fantastic. Tender steak and great service
We stopped in for an early dinner. I had the Halibut and my husband had the burger. He was going to have a steak but the server wasn't sure how many ounces the ribeye was so he quickly decided, better just get a burger. The halibut I had was very tasty and hot, no complaints there but for $41 I would have expected a bigger piece or at the least a little more vegetable side. The burger was cooked properly but mid and the fries were room temperature and not crispy at all. We also had the Hamachi Crudo as appetizer, it was good. The most disappointing thing was the level of service but I must say he was nice just needs some training IMO for dinner service.
Always have a good meal. The servers are nice and the restaurant accepts everyone and treats them the same. You can get anything made to order. Also found out they are locally sourced and organic. That doesn't matter to me, but if it does, you're at the right place. It's a go to for friends and I along with our kids. It's a local staple.

We have been to Standards now several times and have found it to be very enjoyable (atmosphere, food, and service). The only thing I have to say poorly about it is the price of drinks, a little steep. Have your cocktails when you get home. But to be fair, this is true in most restaurants today.
