Hands down the very best cider donuts in RI and likely NE

Kelley Pfeiler

The donuts and cider are out if this world and the atmosphere was so peaceful.

Amber Wait

Absolutely incredible. Wonderful cider and the best donuts!

Dean Larabee

Goodness gracious! Easily the best apple cider donuts I have ever eaten. Hands down.

Brian Ramage

The apple cider donuts are the best in RI in my opinion. The wait is well worth it. Add the hot apple cider for an unbeatable combination.

A trip to the Hard-Pressed Cider Company (HPCC) at Windmist Farm in Jamestown for cider and cider doughnuts has become an annual fall tradition. The cider and doughnuts are some of the best that can be found in Rhode Island.

When you arrive, you park on Weeden Lane, but only on the side closest to HPCC and Windmist farm; no parking is allowed on the other side of the lane. There will often be quite a lot of people, so you might need to parallel park on the lane.

After you make your way down the stone and gravel path to the cider and doughnut trailer, plan for a fair amount of time waiting in line. Windmist Farm is beautiful and the time passes quickly if you take in the scenery and chat.

To help others plan, we kept track of the time: we got in line around 1:08PM on a Sunday and there were over 50 people ahead of us. We ordered and received our ciders at 1:41PM, and received our doughnuts at 1:48. So, based on our 40 minute wait, you might anticipate just under 1 minute of wait time for each person ahead of you in line, on average.

The cider and doughnuts are very much worth the wait! Since it was a warm day, we ordered frozen cider slushies that were excellent. We also ordered a dozen of the cider doughnuts. The tartness of the slushies balanced the richer flavor of the doughnuts.

There are tables and chairs in several places so that you can sit and enjoy your food and drink. Some are in the shade, but most are in the sun. There was also a portable toilet available.

I’d highly recommend visiting HPCC. Their most recent schedule is Friday through Sunday 10AM - 4PM (Labor Day to Thanksgiving).

The cider and donuts are great, but parking is really limited! There’s only side street parking, and once it gets busy, finding a spot is almost impossible. They’re only open Friday through Sunday, with unusual hours from 10 AM to 4 PM. I’d definitely suggest going when it’s less crowded.

Donuts were hot and fresh. Cider slushy was tasty.

Fantastic experience! Highly recommend
Such reasonable prices and such great products. The cider is amazing and has fun new options like a caramel apple slush. They raise live stock and sell fresh meats. The doughnuts were significantly better than I expected them to be and ready so quickly.
Depending on the time you get here there will probably be a line but it’s so worth it and the grounds are cute. The sheep actually like being pet and will come up to the kids and are happy and polite to them.
Cute and fun set ups for seating
The farm does attract flies and bees obviously so be aware of that if you are afraid of them (there are screens in the kitchen to protect them from it but not for you, so if you have an allergy, be extra careful)
Parking is a little difficult, you have to parallel park on the side of a roughy paved road - easier when it’s not so busy. Kind of hard when it’s packed.
Love this place and cannot wait to come back :)

Spoke with Jackie and she is a wealth of information. Very friendly and willing to share her insights into the local cider industry. Looking forward to the hard cider!

Absolutely the best cider donuts I've had. Their frozen apple cider is also hands down great!

Gregory Lau

The best fresh apple cider doughnuts ever! Definitely worth the wait. Eat them warm!

A beautiful spot for hot mulled cider, hot cider donuts, and a great view of Jamestown's central area, often missed by those who simply drive through Jamestown on their way to Newport. I highly recommend this business!

Hands down the best cider donuts I’ve ever had…and I’m a huge donut snob. Don’t hesitate to make a long drive to snag some and cider.
