Unfortunately will never come here again. I came here for takeout expecting traditional Italian food and was left with anything but that. The food was mediocre and the dessert was not good and tasted days old. On top of that food being one of the worst food I have tasted; I had added a $5 tip to my total during the takeout checking out process. Although I did not dine in I like to add a nice tip because I also worked in restaurants and I think it’s the right thing to do. Somehow I was overcharged in my tip, that I myself signed. Somehow my $5 tip was manipulated into a $10 tip. ON TOP of the food not being good I do not trust the integrity of the restaurant or their workers. I noticed the discrepancy and was refunded the $5 but the damage is done. Never returning here, should’ve read the reviews. Attached are some pictures, if you look closely even the strawberry looks horribly old!

I had a 5pm reservation and was seated in over flow room. Hostess was not friendly and less so when I complained about table.Most of all they ran out of Corn Beef Dinner that early which they featured and advertised. The waitress and bus people were great!

We had Luigis cater a birthday party event at the Carousel in Roger Williams Park. They were absolutely fantastic. The 2 servers took care of literally everything. Thank you Jaime and Francesca! Food was delicious, service was beyond expectation. Everyone was delighted. I highly recommend them for catering.

We had Luigis caterer our birthday party event at the Carousel in RWP. They were nothing short of fantastic. We had 2 servers who literally took care of everything. Even though I brought in all the soft drinks and paper goods to save myself some money, they took care of all of it and set it up for me. The food was so delicious, my guests raved about it. And there was so much food! The servers passed around the hors d'oeuvres prior to dinner. They organized the buffet so everything went smoothly. Finally, they cleaned up and packed up everything, including plenty of left overs, and we were finished in no time. I am so grateful for Luigis, especially for the 2 servers, Jaime and Francesca. I highly recommend them for catering!!!!!
I went tonight with a party of 10. The food was mediocre but not terrible. The service on the other hand was not good. We arrived at 530 and did not receive our bill until 920 after asking for it several times. We waited almost an hour for drinks to come to the table after ordering. A 25% gratuity was automatically added to our bill. If we were looking for a long night out this would have been okay but some people actually needed to leave and couldn’t. We went searching for our waitress and handed the check/cards to another employee to pay and still wanted another 20 for her to bring the receipts to the table.

I really enjoy their food. Great pastas and eggplant. Typical local Italian food. Nothing OUT OF THIS WORLD. If you're needing to cater for an office party it's a great spot to please all pallets with out going too far from the conventional Rhode Island Italian.
The WORST “so-call fine Italian dinning food”. Ive eaten in “hole the wall joints” and it is 10-times better than Luigi’s. Luigi’s restaurant is overrated and overhyped.I am NEVER going back to Luigi’s @Hartford Ave, Johnston RI again. I spoke to the supervisor and complained about the food. It got me no where. Basically it just spaghetti and sauce tasted like Heinz ketchup. What a joke. I rather commute a few extra minutes to Atwells Ave on (Federal Hill) or drive down to Atwood Grill @Atwood Ave is much better.This has nothing to do with cost. I do not care about the refund. I am a strong supporter for local small business. Luigi’s as a staff need to understand what hospitality and customer service meaning. (Eat at own risk consumers). I went home and threw away the food. I will not cause a scene talking to an incompetent restaurant’s supervisor.

Good tasting food (got the family size chicken parm, some of their pizza bread, and salmon with salad), lot of people were there eating, good vibes, just a bit of wait to pick up overall would eat here again!
