The Chicken Coop Kitchen and Bar

I’d say this is the best restaurant in Rhode Island, no doubt about it. I got the honey barbecue tenders, fried pickles and the fried cheese curds and everything was above and beyond incredibly delicious. I will definitely be returning again and again. 😊

Unassumingly great. This little place is located on a tiny strip mall in Johnston. And if it hadn’t been for a gift certificate, I probably wouldn’t have thought of going there.

I ordered takeout and was so pleasantly surprised with everything. The burgers were big and juicy with tasty bread that doesn’t overpower the meat, with fresh toppings, I loved the pickles, and amazing fries, which are a cross between potato wedges and curly fries, very tasty.

The chicken sandwich was amazing. Also ordered chicken tenders, which are huge and so tasty, even without any sauce or rub. There’s a well-known chicken tender chain not too far, don’t waste your money there, seriously.

This place is a winner for chicken wings lovers. I ordered mild and salt & vinegar. They were cooked and seasoned perfectly. Big and meaty, definitely a winner.

I loved it so much, I’ve already gone a second time, and will definitely go back many more times.

The place inside is small but nicely decorated and with a nice neighborhood feel to it. The service was great too, very friendly and got my large order perfectly both times.

First thing is by far this is not a family environment. Music being played had profanity throughout. Children shouldn’t be exposed to that. Took about 35 min for our food to get to our table granted no one was in the restaurant. One couple came in 15 min after us and got their food the same time we did. Customer service was average nothing that made me say “ wow”. Food was average. Wings were super soggy and drenched in way too much sauce. BBQ burger was average. Nothing stood out about it. No seasoning at all to the patty. My girlfriend’s chicken sandwich was alright. Again nothing stood out. If you’re looking for basic food this is for you. If you want something above average I would look elsewhere.

We spent close to $50 on a lb of chicken plus sides and it looks like we ended up with a half order. Everything tastes good but we were obviously skimped on the serving size. We won't be ordering from here again.

My wife and I found The Chicken Coop Kitchen and Bar last weekend, was back this weekend, and plan on going back next weekend. Last night we ordered the buffalo tenders, pretzel bites, sidewinder fries, then the steak & cheese egg rolls, and finally the Coop slider trio.
It felt like the cooks in the kitchen were cooking just for us, every dish was even more delicious than the previous one. I felt spoiled. It reminded me of being a young kid on my birthdays when my grandmother would cook all my favorite foods. Except it's not my birthday and now I'm an old Dad with bad jokes.
The service was fantastic, it's very clean and everyone working there was friendly. Going to be back with my daughters and nephews. Cannot recommend enough.

Cool little spot in Johnston, we wanted wings, so we tried it. Really good selection of sauce wings or dry rub wings. Nice little spot.

Stopped in today with my family, the food was great and the service was friendly. The short rib sandwich and the coop sandwich were really tasty. I'm looking forward to coming back to try more of the sauces.

Kid-friendliness: No changing table in the rest room, no kids menu, and only one highchair. Tough for young toddlers but good for older kids. The lack of a kids menu isn't an issue for older kids as the tenders and boneless wings would be good for them.

Wish I could give more than 5 stars! A group of us ordered takeout this weekend and we were blown away. The tenders are huge and delicious. I love that you can get different sauces - we got 3 flavors and they were all incredible. A+ chicken and waffles. We got several appetizers and we loved every single one. The pretzels w/ mustard and steak and cheese eggrolls were my favs but all delish! We also grabbed a few desserts and those were a win too. Not a single complaint. We will definitely put this in our regular rotation!

Quite possibly one of the best chicken sandwiches I have ever had. The chicken is moist, crispy and the house sauce only enhances the sandwich itself. The twisted fries are crispy, well seasoned and are quite filling. I highly recommend trying this place out for a good sandwich at a very reasonable price. My order has always been ready and on time when I pickup and the staff has been friendly.
