⭐⭐☆☆☆ – “Leave the attitude and take the cannoli... on second thought, maybe just take the calzone.”

I don’t enjoy leaving negative reviews, but when I spend my hard earned money, I expect a positive experience. Unfortunately, my recent visit to The Original Italian Bakery was a bit of a mixed bag.

The girl at the counter didn’t seem very welcoming, no smile or greeting. Maybe she was having a rough day, but it did make the visit feel less inviting.

I ordered a cannoli, which unfortunately missed the mark. The shell was soft, and the filling was dry and lacking in flavor. I had heard great things about this place, so it was disappointing that the cannoli didn’t live up to the reputation.

That said, the calzone was really tasty and fresh, and definitely the highlight of my visit. It showed that the bakery is capable of great food when things are done right.

I’m hoping this was just an off day, because I've seen other positive reviews. For now, though, my experience was uneven...one great item, but an overall visit that didn’t quite deliver.

I’m new to the area, and stopping into this Italian bakery was truly a lovely experience. The woman behind the counter — a sweet blonde lady — was so kind and patient with me. I was feeling a little overwhelmed (in the best way!) because everything looked incredible. She took her time helping me order, carefully packaged up two slices of pizza, a piece of carrot cake, and a slice of cherry cheesecake — all of which were absolutely delicious.

The bakery itself has such a warm and welcoming vibe, and the staff clearly care about making sure you’re happy.

We picked up the lobster tail large and a smaller one. The smaller one was good. The large one has a cream that was very offputting. I had to scrape it out and when offered to my kids they had a little and then threw out the rest. It was hard to figure out the flavor of the filling, my kids said it was bubblegum flavor, and I would agree it’s similar. It was odd and too sweet. It overpowered the nice flaky crunch of the actual croissant/lobster tail. Please don’t over sweeten and put artificial flavoring, it really ruins the pasty. A place in New York would make these with fresh whipped cream- simple and fresh and OMG delicious. I was expecting that and it was very disappointing.

Edit- my kids did love the pizza strips though!

Food was a lot more then I thought the cannolis and the sauce and sauce less pizza and esp pizza chips were terribly expensive I won’t be going back for a while despite how good the food is and the service was nice but it was rushed and the spoke to me like I was slow..it was very demeaning also rushing me out the store when I was looking around cause I had never been inside before only my family goes there

After seeing these folks at a farmers market, we had to stop by their business. OMG THE WORLD FAMOUS PIZZA CHIPS are AMAZING. A MUST GET! Hubby got a bagel yummy. I got the lemon bar-delicious!
