Verde Vineyards offers the best wine in the region, making it a favorite among many. The ambiance is nice with a newer building set back in the woods. Though they don't serve food, visitors can bring their own. The knowledgeable staff and the wine tasting experience, complete with history and proper tasting methods, make it a hidden treasure and a must-see.
The owner, Jim, is passionate about wine and winemaking, sharing fascinating stories about the vineyard and the background of each wine during the tasting. The staff, including Ian and Anthony, are equally friendly and welcoming, creating a personal touch. The wine tasting, which includes 7 different types (5 white, 2 red) for $14 or $2 per sample, is a highlight, with the Chardonnay and St. Croix red being customer favorites. The rural atmosphere and the quiet setting on a Sunday make it a relaxing experience. Customers highly recommend the tasting, especially the Bianco d'Amelia and the Rose.
