Fantastic products, super nice people. Everything I’ve had was wonderful. Best chocolate croissants I’ve ever had. Love the Ambrosia bread and the Irish soda bread. I live over 2 hours away but anytime I am in RI you better believe I’m making a stop in Wakefield!

South County Bread Company is a cozy bakery with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The smell of fresh baked bread hits you as soon as you walk in. The staff is friendly and attentive, always smiling and happy to help customers. The owner, Jeff, often shares insights about the delicious artisanal croissants and breads available for the day. Must-try items include the apple pie danish, savory croissants, almond croissant, ham & cheese croissant, and the Morning Bun. They also serve monkey bread and baguettes with house-made butter. The bakery offers a variety of hot and cold coffees, along with a large selection of homemade bread, known for its crispy exterior and soft interior. Parking is available on the main street or in the public lot behind the bakery. The wheelchair-accessible entrance is at street level. It can be a busy spot, but watching the bread and pastries being made adds to the charm. Multiple visits are worthwhile for the incredibly delicious pastries and bread.
