Counter to a recipe comment, when I tasted the whipped cream and instantly knew it was home made and basically no ice cream shop does that! Moose tracks was delicious! Perfect summer vibe and the line moves very quickly. Cash only!

Our very first time coming to frosty freez. We wanted to see what the hype was about as we see people during the summer lining up. We looked over the menu and decided banana splits sounded good. We ordered in both chocolate and vanilla. While the toppings tasted good. The whip cream had no flavor tasted like air and didn't add anything to ice cream itself. The soft serve was mediocre. Wouldn't call it bad but wouldn't call it great either. Not that we will not be back to try something else. It just didn't live up to the hype for us. On positive note the staff was friendly and we loved the options for dogs. Our pup enjoyed his pup cup more than we did our own ice creams so for that I will call it a win.

It's meh. I think FF is more about the old school experience if getting ice cream at a road side stand than the actual ice cream. If it weren't, I don't think this place would be rated very high. The ice cream tastes like store bought ice cream, nothing really that special. For a tourist destination, Newport really needs to step up their ice cream offerings.

Very good ice cream. SO many choices it was daunting but in a good way. The staff were super nice and the place had good vibes. Only odd thing is they’re still cash only in 2024 but it worked out. Will be coming back!
Parking: Free parking but near other businesses and not much. Saw people parking next door and walking over.
Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly.
Wheelchair accessibility: Outdoor ordering could accommodate wheelchair. Tables set up on side would be hard since they’re fixed seats.

Frosty Freez is a cute ice cream shop. The soft serve is my favorite, but the past few times it hasn’t been as good. Tonight we got a small vanilla cup with chocolate jimmies and the large was the same way. I noticed it tasted a little bit off; like a cream cheese taste is what I can describe it as, on top of it , when you order a size they switch it up all the time THIS is what I am confused about THE SIZES , the small cup was like a kiddie size? Or a doggie dish size? Idk, I know last month a small was a normal cup size so I guess they switched it up. I just think the kids need to be trained the correct cup sizes because you pay for a medium you want a medium not a kiddie. It’s kind of pricey, we are willing to pay it but give us the right sizes. Better luck next year, I wish the vanilla ice cream tasted like it use to.
On the positive note: I don’t like anyone else’s sundaes like frosty freez! Chocolate twist , with hot fudge and peanut butter , Reese’ pieces with whipped cream And a cherry! Hopefully it tastes like it use to next time I try it!
