Benny's Clam Shack Narragansett

Really good clam shack food. Had the clam cakes, chicken wings and hot weenies. The clam cakes actually had some good clam pieces, the hot weenies were authentic and delicious and the chixken wings were crispy and yummy.

Went to the beach and drove by for a quick bite turned out to be a really great environment and the food was delicious 10/10 recommend

I would like to state first and foremost that the nice woman waitressing at this location deserves so much better than the way the owner of this establishment treats her. I and the rest of the patrons were forced to listen to him berate and swear at her repeatedly for his own mistakes. I watched him hand the waitress the wrong type of chowder three different times. Screaming and name calling her each time. As well as continuing to utter random obscenities as she was walking away and tending to the clientele.

I am very curious as to how well the rest of the afternoon went on 8/10/25. As I was leaving the owner was yelling and swearing at two women in the parking lot who had the audacity to stand up for the waitress. The patrons waiting out front all leaving.

The owner is a vile and apparently inept fry cook. I feel bad for anyone that has to interact with him. I especially feel bad for his dog. The dog that was wandering around the kitchen. Is that food safe?

The food was disgusting.

Benny, could you please provide a counter point of view in the event my assessment of you being both inept and vile is inaccurate?

Additionally, as an industry professional could you provide brief explanation of the food safe standards regarding animals in the kitchen for us that are not in the industry?

Stopped in for weiners- it does say “weiners” on the sign out front. Was told they were out of those . The guy at the counter had an attitude when we asked about other food, essentially blaming us bc they’d been “slammed” all day and were out of things. He said “what do you want me to do when you come in here now and we’re out of things? I didn’t know it was our fault that they hadn’t ordered enough provisions , or had bothered to put a sign up saying what they were out of . Why even stay open w no food and that attitude? We left . Won’t be back.

Was that the owner? No idea but he needs an attitude adjustment. We went to Gansett wraps - they had Everything listed on the menu and they were NICE. What a concept!

This owner is awful. Screamed at the waitress so bad. I’m so glad a lot of people stood up for her. You act like that to your staff you shouldn’t have a Business. I was going to dine here until I heard that. Disgusting.
I already heard bad things about this place like the owner stealing tips from the waitress. I still wanted to try it but please believe the reviews!!! He also owns a restaurant in north providence called carmines. Avoid that place too!!

We came to Benny’s Clam Shack for the first time this August, 2025. Benny’s was a good find.

We had the fish and chips, lobster roll, chicken sandwich, curly fries, and a couple of cold beers. The food was very good. I would go as far as to say that the lobster roll was the best I have had in my life, and I used to make them as a sous chef! Everything else was good too.

The food took a while to come out, but I’d be willing to do it over again to see what else they might have that I’d like, such as the chicken wings, or those NY System hot wieners.

I’d definitely say to give Bennys a shot. It was a nice surprise and the food was really good.

Went with my father for what we thought would be a quick lunch. The lady running the front was very nice albeit overwhelmed. Ordered 3 Hot dogs plus a beer and soda that ran me 35 dollars. We were then informed during our 30 minute plus wait (with 2 other customers in the restaurant) that the owner was coming and that he didn't want anyone eating inside. I get that it's a nice day and its a good look for the business. But if thats what you want, don't have an indoor dining area. Food was okay. The only positive thing about the experience was the Cashier who apologized for our inconvenience. Very surprised the place hasn't gone under with how incompetent the owner is. If you're reading this. Reconsider your life and think very carefully about how you want to run your business. Avoid this place like the plague.

Quiet little place of the main roads. Great selection of foods. Wings, dogs,fish clams. The greatest thing was the Beat the clock menu. Had our fill of fish and chips. Clam cakes and chowder. So good so yummy and affordable. Won't disappoint.

I have had lobster rolls at a ton of different restaurants and this was by far the best I’ve had. Overall, everyone in our party said their food was fantastic and it was a nice little restaurant.

Lobster is not cheap no matter where you go, but it was worth it !
