Fabulous 😍
Enjoyed the Lobster Roll, homemade chips, wine and key lime cheesecake! Our waitress was super attentive and efficient. Prices are fair, if you plan to have more than one glass of wine...in some cases it's more cost efficient to buy the bottle! There is a takeout window and a Tiki Bar on George's beach. Next time, we plan to stay there for the day! Great views of all the boats made for a really wonderful day.

After a picture-perfect beach day this past weekend, I finally made my way to George's of Galilee in Narragansett for the very first time! This iconic Rhode Island spot is just steps away from Salty Brine Beach, & it did not disappoint.
Since I was dining solo, I treated myself to the spicy tuna tempura roll & paired it with a spicy basil bloody mary —the perfect combo of heat + flavor. Big shoutout to Megan at the upstairs bar for her fabulous service & warm hospitality!
Definitely a must-visit for anyone craving fresh seafood, a fun vibe, & gorgeous ocean.

A Narragansett institution, I’ve been eating here since the 1970’s. First with my grandparents, my parents and now with my own sons. Excellent food, views and atmosphere.

We have visited George’s takeout window many times and always enjoy their food. Instead, we sat down for dinner for a date night.
The hostess downstairs was very polite, we asked for a table upstairs and she directed us to go upstairs to ask for availability. We were seated at a high top near the bar right away.
As expected, with it being the Sunday before school starts back in session for some districts, it was very busy. We waited to be greeted by a server for about 15 minutes; we saw that the bar was backed up and servers were catching up with orders- very understandable.
Our server Jordan was knowledgeable of the menu and attentive once our service began.
But this is where our experience took a turn- the cocktail and Blue Moon that we ordered were fantastic…. the food, not so much. Mind you- my boyfriend did consume 6/8 pieces of the sushi roll because we were starving!
We ordered George’s Calamari, but we were given an order of the hurricane calamari. Because it was busy, I didn’t want to disturb our server with correcting the order. My lobster bisque was delicious, but my boyfriend’s shrimp tempura roll was interesting. Instead of authentic tempura flakes, his sushi roll had (to compare) rice krispy bits on top of it. We noticed this on several of their rolls at other tables. I understand that this establishment is not an authentic sushi restaurant, but the quality of the roll was not what we expected. The rice was not sticky rice, the roll was chewy and the wasabi tasted like the kind that you buy from a grocery store. It was watery, slightly salty and did not have much of a flavor.
For entree’s I ordered the baked stuffed shrimp with a side of orzo and broccolini, he ordered the seafood pot pie. Granted, we were expecting the pot pie to have some sauce inside like a regular pot pie- this was smothered in lobster bisque. The bread was soppy and inedible, there were some shrimp and bits of cod then the rest was potatoes.
Usually when I buy baked stuffed shrimp for the holidays from a local vendor like Captain’s Catch, they’re a reasonable size with lots of seafood stuffing (the shrimp are typically a medium or larger size after it’s been butterflied and the stuffing is a tablespoon or a little more). These shrimp were small and had a dollop of stuffing that was just breadcrumbs, nothing else. The rice pilaf was also very dry.
To top it off, I had a lobster antennae in my plate.
We will visit George’s takeout window again, but not their table service dining.

Fantastic valet service, highly recommend. The cod and salmon was very good, but the service was a little rough. The hostess was great and we were seated right away in the area we wanted. But the waiter never greeted us or even brought us water until we got up and stopped someone to ask who our waiter was. We waited around 10 minutes before doing that because it was a great day and we were busy chatting and laughing. But it felt like we wouldn't have gotten any service if we had not stopped someone. The outside is nice but they don't have enough umbrellas, maybe 3 tables out of the whole group had adequate shade for comfortable eating. It took 30+ minutes to receive our food once we had ordered and it was not as warm as I would have liked. I'm assuming that's due to the waitor and not the kitchen staff, because the food really was excellent.
I'm not sure if I would go back unless they fixed the shade issue and I would be tempted to leave if we had the same waiter again. There is a military discount, but it doesn't apply to the whole party, just the military member's dish. I do appreciate any discount but it feels wierd to not have it apply to my spouse.

It’s really beautiful to spend a summer evening here!
Amazing seafoods and the vibe is unmatchable. We enjoyed the outdoor shacks with cool breeze on the beach side.
Must visit summer place in New England!

Place is really big, so normally not too bad a wait, and the complementary valet parking is a must, as this is in a pretty busy area. You'd think the food would cost more for how good it is. Very professional staff as well.
