Worst food on the island
We booked over memorial day weekend. The hotel cancelled on us the day before checking in. We had to cancel all of our plans which cost us. On top of this they indicated that they would refund us in 7 to 10 days. Absolutely ridiculous.
Food and drinks: Yeah, yeah, yeah...great view, lovely setting on the Block...but, really you're on Block Island not New York or Boston. What's with the pricing ... 18.00 for a beet salad, 21.00 for a fig salad, 46.00 for a bowl of linguine, 51.00 for for a plate of 8 local (?) scallops...half size no less. Tell me you didn't cut those in half. Yet, your wine choices and prices are excellent 12 - 18 per glass - serious drinks higher. And then, there's the focaccia which came with the dinner ... an up charge of $8.00 placed on the final bill for 'bread.' If it's your standard to dine out at $!25+ per person ... I would recommend 3-5 other places on island that would leave a better taste in your mouth.
We had dinner on the porch which was very pleasant and the views were great. They also have indoor and what the call patio dining. Patio dining is on the lawn so it's in the sun, if you want outdoor but not in the sun reserve the porch.
I had the mussels and the scallops. The mussels are spectacular. They are served in soup rather than just a broth. The mussels themselves were plump and fresh but it's the soup that sets this dish apart, I wanted to lick the plate.
For the main course I had the scallops. They were fine, fresh but otherwise not outstanding.
We love the restaurant at the Atlantic and come here every year for my birthday. I especially love the fact that they have a vegetarian menu (you'll need to ask for it from the host/ess though.) The view is beautiful and the food is the best on the island in my opinion.
We had lunch at the inn's restaurant last weekend. Lovely views of the harbor and Atlantic; excellent food; surprisingly poor service. Our waitress checked on us once midway through lunch, never offering to refill our drinks or anything else despite the fact the place was practically overflowing with staff. After eating, we stared at our empty plates for at least 20 minutes before anyone approached. We tipped commensurate with the service received. Next to our table was an extremely loud obnoxious woman who was obviously drunk. Staff kept feeding her drinks, probably where their profit / tip margins are. They should have cut her off. Miserable experience.

The best dining experience for me in quite some time. It started with a very simple tomato sandwich appetizer. At first glance not a glamorous start but the flavor combination of fresh vine ripened tomatoes, basil, and the house-made aioli really set the tone and showcased the Chef's attention to detail and his culinary flair. And it just got better from there. Dinner at the Atlantic was the apex of our trip to Block Island and I highly recommend you make it part of your itinerary the next time you visit the island.

We had a quick weekend getaway to the Atlantic Inn for a friend’s wedding on island. It was quaint and clean, and everyone was so friendly. We were welcomed into the hotel with Rosé and cookies (which the kids were thrilled about). The staff were very welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed. Our room was on the smaller side, but that’s common for on block island. Our setup was perfect- our bedroom had a queen, then the bathroom was between us and the kids who had bunk beds. The views from the hotel were beautiful- it’s up on a hill, so you get great views, but definitely something to consider if you’re going to be biking and walking to and fro. The lawn or porch are excellent places to relax and watch the sunset while having a drink or bite to eat. Our breakfast was delicious- freshly baked blueberry muffins, frittata, fruit salad, and yogurt with granola. Walking to town was about a 10 minute walk- and it was such a peaceful, beautiful place. We had control over the air conditioning in each room, the beds were comfortable and the bathroom was clean. Just wish it had more counter space. But other than that- it was perfect for our weekend. The hotel provided beach towels which was perfect as I didn’t want to lug them across the ferry.

Just had a wonderful mid-week stay at the Atlantic Inn! Magnificent views, friendly staff, and a cozy meal at the 1879 restaurant with a visit by the chef to talk about birding. Block Island is home to breeding yellow warblers and the common yellow throat, which were hanging out in the trees just off the front lawn, which made for a lovely rainy morning while sipping coffee on the large porch. First time in Block Island and hope to come again soon!

I came May 2, so off-season. Restaurant was not yet open. Breakfast pastries and tea, coffee, and juice provided each day. The ocean view from my room was magnificent. The bed was very comfortable. No TV but air/heat were modern and quietly efficient. Water pressure excellent. The hosts were lovely and helpful. If you want a peaceful stay and drive (make sure to reserve a space on the ferry well in advance) or are up for some walking stay here. I could sit on the front porch all day watching the ocean.

Four of us had an amazing, delicious dinner there last Saturday. Not only did they allow us to bring our own very special bottle of wine for corkage, of course (not common on Block Island), but the dining room was gorgeous! Our understanding is that there are new owners who renovated and they just reopened— lucky us! Even better- the food was delicious and perfectly prepared— and the service was impeccable. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!
They have different rooms at different prices. I suggest you get a room with private bathroom. Not all inn's on have private bathrooms. The food is upscale and the dinning room is beautiful with views of the Atlantic. All rooms were very clean and air-conditioned.Nice short walk to the 1661 petting farm for kids and adults.5 star staff.Rooms: There is a beautiful bar area and directly across a petting zoo.Short 5 min walk to town and a verity of affordable breakfast places and dining.Nearby activities: Petting zoo. Island theater. ShoppingWalkability: 5 minutes to town and beaches.Food & drinks: Bar on site and many bars and restaurants 5 minutes away.

Thank you Sarah & team for being so welcoming. We enjoyed our short stay in your wonderful hotel, I loved the fact that even with the renovations you managed to keep the charm and the quirkiness of this historic building including the uneven floor in the room, lol. Even though the room listed a queen bed, I found it to be more like a king and the photos do not give it justice, I actually found it to be much bigger. The windows give way to the view of the sea in the distance and the sunflowers opposite the hotel. The bed was sooo very comfortable and the toiletries were very good. There is no fridge, but Sarah gave us an ice bucket to keep my son's water cool. There is a mini bar with some snacks and mineral water. There is no telly either, but did not phase us as we did not spend much time in the room. We did not stay for dinner, but it was extremely busy with patrons. Deck chairs line the front lawn to anticipate the sunsets in the evenings. If you have never visited Block Island, please take my word for it, it is as if you have been transported back in time, when everything was good in the world. Also, sorry to hear about the fire at the other hotel, that was terrible.
