The Atlantic Inn was a wonderful place for dinner! We had a lovely time, great views, ambiance, and food! The service was exceptional.
The Atlantic Inn was a perfect home base for our long weekend in Block Island. From the moment we arrived we were met with impeccable and friendly service. The front desk staff were always available and willing to help with any ask. We appreciated all the ways they helped our family settle in. Our room was beautiful, comfortable bed, beautiful view, pull out for my teen girls, and a gorgeous remodeled bathroom. It felt like home lounging in the comfortable and beautiful lobby with morning coffee or an evening drink. The outdoor Adirondack chairs were the perfect spot for a beautiful afternoon. We didn’t miss the crowded town center, instead riding bikes around the island and relaxing at the inn. Dinner was causal and delicious. Again, the staff at Atlantic and Rose Farm Inn are the best, and I wouldn’t want to stay anywhere else. Thank you for a lovely weekend.
I am not one to write reviews, but for this place I think it is necessary. Me and my wife were staying for our 1 year wedding anniversary and I booked the island view room. When we got to our room it was not what it looked like online at all. I’m guessing they have other similar rooms and we just happened to get the one that wasn’t listed on their website. Not a big deal. Room was also extremely small. Hardly any room to keep luggage. We are on vacation so we don’t care much about the size of the room too much but when you are spending over $400 a night at a place you expect something. Also, no TV which is fine and I knew that when I booked… So anyways what I am getting at is the place is fine for a 2 star hotel. For the price we paid I expect service and amenities to be flawless and have extra perks but there was nothing. Also, no breakfast! I mean come on. When you stay at a Best Western you at least get breakfast. Yes they do have great views and the restaurant for dinner is very good as well. All I’m saying is for what we paid it did not match the service we received. We also had to leave a night early due to the incoming storm which cancelled the ferries for the next 2 days. So, unfortunately we made the decision to head back to the mainland on the last available ferry because we could not afford to stay 2 more nights. So when I told them we would be leaving a night early and if there was anything they could do for us in terms of any discount they said no. I do understand this because the room is already booked and they cannot sell it again. The storm was not their fault obviously. We were just a little perturbed that they did not offer us anything and had no sympathy for our situation. We love Block Island, but will not be staying at this establishment again.
We recently stayed at the Atlantic inn the weekend of August 10.
Our stay was absolutely perfect from beginning to end. In an effort to make arrangements for a nice family weekend, I contacted the inn and spoke Ashleigh who was able to accommodate all of our needs for a perfect weekend getaway.
Upon arriving we had the most seamless and enjoyable check in and we met Hazel, who was equally as kind and friendly and made our check in easy and enjoyable.
The property is absolutely stunning, the location is walking distance from everything that you would need and want to see and the service was impeccable.
We also had dinner at the on site restaurant which was better than we could have ever expected. We had drinks on the lawn in Adirondack chairs and could not have had a better weekend.
I would like to personally thank Ashleigh and her staff for making this weekend so special and enjoyable for our family. I would definitely recommend this location to anybody and will certainly be returning here in the future.
Stayed here for a week in the Veranda Suite, second year on Block Island. Enjoyed every minute. Some of the best family time was sitting on the huge porch, having breakfast, a snack or a drink while taking in the view. Bedrooms were comfortable, nice living, dining area. Small kitchen. Wonderful shower. Ate on the porch of the main building, attentive service, delicious food and drinks. Regret missing the s’more dessert. Whole family, from 7 to 78 had an unforgettable vacation.
This is a review just for the restaurant at this hotel as we did not stay here. We started with a cocktail on the grass lawn out front with spectacular views. We got seated right on time, on the covered patio. We tried a group of apps, bread, olives, salad, octopus, whipped ricotta, all were excellent. Big eye tuna on soba noodles was the star of the night, simply amazing. Steak was good. Wine selection is solid, wide variety and pricing. We took taxi there, and walked back. Will return on our next trip to Block Island.
Food was so mediocre but extremely expensive. I think we almost spent $20 on a side of potatoes. Not even that seasoned or special. Portions are TINY. We got scallops for almost $50 and it was barely a main course. Chowder was so salty, it tasted like a mistake. Staffer also kept not giving us silverware even when asking for it. So weird. Views are beautiful. But not necessarily worth the $$$.
Incredible dining experience. Food, views and service was 10/10
As a wedding planner, I cannot express how amazing Dave and Ashleigh and their whole staff are. We held a large scale wedding on their lawn this past weekend with many moving parts, outside vendors, and we had high expectations. They met and surpassed them all. Every single guest said it was the best wedding they had ever been to. The food was excellent, the grounds were pristine, the environment was friendly and accommodating. If you are considering The Atlantic Inn for your event, from weddings to rehearsal dinners to welcome parties...even croquet tournaments...do it! You won't regret it.
Worst food on the island

We booked over memorial day weekend. The hotel cancelled on us the day before checking in. We had to cancel all of our plans which cost us. On top of this they indicated that they would refund us in 7 to 10 days. Absolutely ridiculous.
Food and drinks: Yeah, yeah, yeah...great view, lovely setting on the Block...but, really you're on Block Island not New York or Boston. What's with the pricing ... 18.00 for a beet salad, 21.00 for a fig salad, 46.00 for a bowl of linguine, 51.00 for for a plate of 8 local (?) scallops...half size no less. Tell me you didn't cut those in half. Yet, your wine choices and prices are excellent 12 - 18 per glass - serious drinks higher. And then, there's the focaccia which came with the dinner ... an up charge of $8.00 placed on the final bill for 'bread.' If it's your standard to dine out at $!25+ per person ... I would recommend 3-5 other places on island that would leave a better taste in your mouth.
We had dinner on the porch which was very pleasant and the views were great. They also have indoor and what the call patio dining. Patio dining is on the lawn so it's in the sun, if you want outdoor but not in the sun reserve the porch.
I had the mussels and the scallops. The mussels are spectacular. They are served in soup rather than just a broth. The mussels themselves were plump and fresh but it's the soup that sets this dish apart, I wanted to lick the plate.
For the main course I had the scallops. They were fine, fresh but otherwise not outstanding.
We love the restaurant at the Atlantic and come here every year for my birthday. I especially love the fact that they have a vegetarian menu (you'll need to ask for it from the host/ess though.) The view is beautiful and the food is the best on the island in my opinion.
We had lunch at the inn's restaurant last weekend. Lovely views of the harbor and Atlantic; excellent food; surprisingly poor service. Our waitress checked on us once midway through lunch, never offering to refill our drinks or anything else despite the fact the place was practically overflowing with staff. After eating, we stared at our empty plates for at least 20 minutes before anyone approached. We tipped commensurate with the service received. Next to our table was an extremely loud obnoxious woman who was obviously drunk. Staff kept feeding her drinks, probably where their profit / tip margins are. They should have cut her off. Miserable experience.
