“Great experience here on a busy Saturday in August for lunch. We were able to make an 11:45 reservation and arrived right on time from the New London 10:00 departure ferry. Quick, easy walk. Eating outside at the porch rail overlooking the water was a highlight of our day on BI. We liked it so much we came back for a drink at the end of the day! Their ordering system isn't great - go to the line at the bar to order and they bring your food to your numbered table. Luckily our waiter took my order just as I got in line so I didn't need to do that. Food was “fine”. Nothing outstanding but no complaints. It's the view!! We'd definitely come back. We didn't order it, but the lobster rolls looked huge and yummy.”

“Co-worker and I were out on the island for an install. Once complete, our client brought us to Ellen’s for lunch. I I ordered the “trash burger” as listed on the menu. The burger was delicious and cooked perfectly to medium rare. The side of fries was a generous portion and every single fry was crispy. My co-worker had a burger as well and was very pleased. Client had the fried chicken plate and it looked amazing. Restaurant is exceptionally clean, type two gals working had excellent customer service skills and very attentive and social. Cooks were efficient and friendly as you are able to see them in the kitchen if you are sitting at the counter. Would recommend Ellen’s to anyone and will stop in on my next trip out.”

“I love this place. Each time I am in BI I eat here. On my last visit I had an amazing lobster. Photo in comments. Waitress was nice and had a good sense of humor. Was happy to eat outdoors with a nice breeze.”

“We went to The Spring House for our 25th wedding anniversary. This was the best vacation we have ever had. The hotel is amazing. We had a corner room facing the ocean and the view was perfect. We loved sitting on the lawn in the white Adirondack chairs. The view was spectacular, the live piano music was wonderful and it was great that you could order drinks and food from your chair. The food and staff was also great. We had the same waitress for two of our dinners and she was amazing her name is Kacey. She made our dining experience very enjoyable. We highly recommended The Spring House and we plan on going again.”

“Just what you need on a hot summer day!! We stopped in at Blocksicle and was greeted by the owner Ema and her staff Lexie . They shared all the cool flavors of popsicles they had on hand and all the amazing toppings you can add to it. If you’re on the island make sure you stop on in to pick your favorite flavor!! “We had a great time at the September Block Island Pride Drag Party that was hosted here! There was enough space to dance on the dance floor. It was convenient to have both indoor and outdoor bars. Finally, there were self-serve water stations at both bars, which was a superb idea.”

“This is a very convenient spot to grab a coffee and pasty before you hop on the ferry to leave Block Island. The whole milk latte and chocolate croissant I had were pretty good. I’d strongly recommend budgeting at least 15-20 minutes to obtain your food and drink here.”

“someone working here noticed my girlfriend was looking unwell and very kindly offered to give her some of her own advil! we had no meds and the drugstore next door was closed so we ended up taking her up on it. just a standout individual who deserves a raise. the ice cream was good too.”

“Easily the best meal our family enjoyed on Block Island. The food is always fresh, delicious, and the service is always top notch. Good food for the kids and everything is super affordable with big portions. Highly recommend the sushi rolls with a big plate of tiger tots for the table.”
