“BIBH was everything I hoped it would be and much more. The staff was excellent, engaging, and friendly creating a family like atmosphere! The rooms were full of modern amenities and decor! I suggest a balcony room as the sunsets are amazing! The food is unbelievable! This southern boy loved the pork grilled cheese and the smell of the grilled street corn alone will make your mouth water! If you don’t finish off every meal with their Key Lime Pie you are missing out! There are definitely NO BAD DAYS at this one of a kind hotel!“

“You come here for the good times and to cut bait from the influencer crowds and social butterflies looking for a backdrop. Good food, good for kids good for good times, music, entertainment, off the grid, locals experience. Flipz, tanks, shorts, shoes, shirts, no problem, just smile and have fun with others. You'll be glad you stopped by. Great wings, Nara on Tap. And a nice list of other things.

Kid-friendliness: Kids are welcome, although it can get a little wild at times later in the evenings, but typically all safe and fun.

Wheelchair accessibility: First floor entrance, wide doors,“

“Fire banana mudslides. We always come here after a long day at the beach and it never disappoints. It's fun to look at the big yachts docked along the marina, and take in the scenery at the harbor. They always play great music and it's a peaceful vibe. Glad this place is finally on the map.“

“One one of the best meals I’ve ever had. The oysters Thermidor were to die for. Wasn’t as hungry as I wish I had been given how good the food was but I ordered the Sicilian clams with a side of pasta and that was also perfection. Service also outstanding. Two hours to get there and two hours back and totally worth it. Don’t miss this one.“

Mahogany Shoals Bar & Grill • $$

“If your local or someone has visited the island enough to branch out from the lure of town & the beaches, you've made your way to this watering hole at Payne's dock marina.

Nestled at nearly the inner most point of Great Salt Pond, this cozy little establishment is a favorite watering hole for locals & seafaring types.

This place is one of my favorite lo-cals for enjoying a beverage.

What's best about how this joint, is that you can often find fresh raw seafood offerings right on the dock to supplement your afternoon cocktail or beverage.

Pull up a stool at the dock bar, order a cold one, & tell'em Scotty sent ya!“
