“Went to Pagoda tonight with friends. Had the best meal and our server Alex was super. The Steamed Dumplings were the best we have ever had. Never a bad meal here and service is always great.“

She knew exactly what we were going to need having two kids under 4 with us. This is my favorite place in Newport and they hit the mark yet again.“

My friends and I randomly discovered it and were some of his first regulars, and we kept the lights on and helped him out through the winter. “After reading these comments, I just had to chime in.

First off, if you are a sailor, this is your home away from home. You’ll meet other sailors with fantastic stories.

Secondly, if you are not use to the ball busting style of a RI bar tender, don’t come here. You won’t understand. (Hence the reviews from “out of towners.”). But, if you have a backbone and a respectful, yet smart mouth, you will be right at home.

“My coworkers suggested Buskers for our Friday wind-down and I was kind of skeptical, not really an Irish pub person. But I was converted fast. We got there around 6, grabbed a booth near the corner, and within an hour a live band was going. The Guinness was poured perfectly, slow and all that. Not unlike 'where everybody knows ... blah, blah, blah .... amazing array of beers from around the globe ... enough to fill all THREE bars in this cozy tavern tucked into nowhere. I don't live here or drink beer, but if I did - i would L I V E here. Warm, cozy, welcoming – just like the place you want to be. Baby back ribs platter and Cobb salad complete with mid-american BBQ flavors topped off with a glass of Beer'd Kittens. Cheers“

“Felt like the previous reviews misled us. We were in Newport for a short getaway and went here one night for dinner and I was shocked at the atmosphere. Plastic tables and chairs was not what I was looking for. We ended up staying and they were very nice but the place was totally empty. It's a bar that serves food not really a restaurant at least we didn't see any indoor seating or maybe I missed it. If you are looking for something uber casual this is your spot.“

What an amazing dining experience we had at Hooked last night! It was our first time dining outside this season, and we’re so glad we chose Hooked. From start to finish, everything was outstanding.
Shelby, our server, was attentive, friendly, knowledgeable, and truly embodied the spirit of hospitality. She genuinely cared about making our evening special, and it absolutely showed.
The food was fabulous — no surprise with the talented Scales crew behind it all! And the dirty martini with hand-stuffed blue cheese olives was perfectly crafted and absolutely on point.
Overall, it was a truly memorable evening, and a huge shoutout to Shelby for making the experience so exceptional. We can’t wait to come back!“

“Fun friendly place to meet your friends for a drink prior to your evening plans or afterwards for a night cap. The bartenders are the best in the State but beware they won't let you overr do it. But hey that's their job. One thing I know is they'll be open during all hurricanes or snowstorms“
