“My go-to order in most places would be a Reuben. The quality of the meat, bread and the balance with the sauerkraut, sauce & cheese say a lot about how the restaurant approaches their food. The 02878 is the best Reuben sandwich I have ever had the pleasure of eating. Now I will have to find another go-to for other restaurants because they will pale in comparison to Localz 02878.“

“We were vacationing in Newport from Wisconsin and stopped in at Cappy’s. Sue the bartender was friendly and a wonderful bartender. The owner Joe, what can I say….what a guy! Joe saw us walking to our Airbnb and yelled at us on the street asking when we were headed back home. Joe is a gem of a bartender. He has a gift of gab and can hand out the bs too. Nice local establishment with friendly customers and bartenders. We had Dan as a bartender too and he was a friendly, great guy! “EXCELLENT. Burgers here are top notch. Fresh, juicy, flavorful. Make sure to get some extra Mission sauce on the side to dip your fries in. The restaurant itself is super clean and welcoming. The staff were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. I own a small burger restaurant on Long Island and this place is doing everything right. They hand you a plastic dinosaur so they know where to bring your order if you're dining in, that's the coolest thing ever. Can't wait to go back!“

“We are sorry it took us so long to discover The Square Peg. Cozy, old colonial vibe, delicious fall sangria and scrumptious comfort food. Our first visit was a perfect complement to our day visiting farm stands and enjoying a beautiful October Saturday. A bonus is that the location could rival Salem in October minus the crowds. Just perfect. We loved the chili with sour cream, cheese and onions on top, the patty melt and the ahi tuna tacos. All were delicious and reasonably priced. We look forward to visiting many times.“

“My dad and I went to Jack’s Family Restaurant this weekend. My dad and I live in Pennsylvania, but with recent family events we’ve found ourselves in Rhode Island a few times within the last month. My dad said Jack’s looked “the same as it always did,” and he smiled the entire time. We ordered the little necks casino, clam cakes, clam chowder, and seafood zuppa (and we splurged and got the lobster). Everything was great! We thank the staff and chefs for a wonderful experience. Everyone was kind. The food was delicious, and quickly delivered to us to be devoured. We had a wonderful experience & will definitely be back. ❤️☺️“

“Came here for Mother’s Day and our table came complete with a picture of my family in a frame. What a nice touch! The food was delicious and our waitress was perfect. “Came across this pub after looking at many menus along Thames St. This one looked most appealing to us. Definitely a great cozy pub with some authentic touches and great pints on draft. Started off with boxty as an appetizer which were delicious. Entrees were impossible burger and busker burger both great and flame grilled. Now for the pints a huge selection including my favorite Guinness, but one I’ve been searching for on tap is O’Hara’s, and the search is over. Great pour and great fusion Blacksmith. Stop in you won’t regret it!“

“After reading these comments, I just had to chime in.

First off, if you are a sailor, this is your home away from home. You’ll meet other sailors with fantastic stories.

Secondly, if you are not use to the ball busting style of a RI bar tender, don’t come here. You won’t understand. (Hence the reviews from “out of towners.”). But, if you have a backbone and a respectful, yet smart mouth, you will be right at home.
