B&J ice cream is fantastic, but this location needs some work. The ice cream was icy, the large cup was under filled and was significantly smaller than a small cone, the selection was underwhelming with flavors unavailable, and there wasn't a 'no tip' option. Plus, it's expensive for the quantity.

The coconut 7 layer bar ice cream was incredible. That being said, they should really stay open later. The last two nights we went at 9pm to find Ben and Jerry's closed and the other two ice cream shops with 30 minute long lines out the door. Why a seasonal business would close so early and forgo so much business is not understandable.
They have one gluten free flavor but aren’t able to serve it to celiacs because the line is cross contaminated and the freezer is too cold for them to serve out of a fresh container.

Just great
Their vanilla ice cream is awesome! Never expected it to be this good.
Small little shop right on Main St. perfect place to pop into before hopping back onto the Ferry for the day. Our server was super sweet, room was clean and plenty of flavors to choose from.
I was in the ice cream business and sold Ben & Jerry Pints to stores. It is a good, quality ice cream and when on sale in stores it is a good value. However I did go to get some in the B.I store and they always have flavors that are not sold in pints. I got one of those new style flavors but the price is made for the store to make a huge profit. There is a lot competition on the street and their prices are no where as high as this store. The quality of their ice cream is very good by the way but does not have the name Ben & Jerry. I liked my cup of ice cream but it is just as easy for me to go to one of the others. Unileaver is not king. however the staff here are great and fast and polite and the store is kept very clean. no parking in the area. walk in traffic no seating inside.
Best ice cream ever!!
Restaurantji Recommends
Very hard to see which flavor one would like since no samples. Then no chairs or even benches to sit on. Lastly the prices are horrible, we got 4 small cups and it cost over 20 bucks. An absolute waste of money and over priced madness. Next time go to a local store that maybe cares about their customers. I would highly NOT recommend eating ice cream at this location. Flavors just not as good as the grocery store.
Not sure why a chain is on this island. Block island is a small place with no franchises except this one. They make enough money selling $7 pints all over the world. Give a local business a try instead of B&J’s there’s at least 3 within a 2 minute walk.
I had a great time with my parents here. Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice atmosphere looking across at Old Harbor.
We stopped in for ice cream and all ended up getting the cookie cookie milk shake. It was pretty large but tasted great!
The ice cream was delicious on a waffle cone. Was disappointed that the server was eating behind the counter and then wanted to wait on us. Had to ask her to change her gloves before before scooping.
