We love Block Island Oyster Bar ! I recommend it . Food is consistent. Ambiance is lovely. So much history in the building . And of course Kimberly is usually there hosting and making everyone feel wonderful . I always make it our destination when we come to the Block .
Excellent service! The Block Island swordfish was perfection! The stuffed quahogs were filled with clams & NOT filler!
Thankfully we were blessed with perfect weather to dine al fresco. Beautiful atmosphere, delicious food. Highly recommend the caviar with the oysters and The Lazyman Lobster! The key lime pie was also one of the best I’ve ever had!

We go here for a cocktail and conversation. The drinks are always excellent. The outdoor seating can't be beat.

Thank you to all the staff that helped me when I fell - they went above and beyond! And the food was outstanding!!
Appetizers arrived prior to cocktail order which had been made 15 minutes before. Seems as though an additional bartender is needed. 2 of us order Ed the lazy man lobster which was supposedly sautéed in citrus butter, which you could not taste at all, vpbasically lobster with stuffing on top. Needed a wedge of lemon when served in addition of some lemon zest, etc to make that taste come through. Have eaten here numerous times over the past serveral decades and feel as though the level of the food and the overall service could use an upgrade.
This is one of our favorite restaurants on Block Island. The setting is beautiful and the food is always exceptional.
I bad roasted oysters for an appetizer, lazy man's lobster with scallops and shrimp for an entree and key lime pie for dessert. The oysters and the rest of the seafood was prepared perfecty. I had key lime pie for dessert. With a decent tip the bill came to $100. This is not a place to go if you're pinching pennies. The setting was beautiful and the service was very good. The place was filled to capacity and there were a couple of screaming kids in the restaurant. So it was noisy. That was the only stain on sheer perfection.
We love this beautiful restaurant, the outside garden and high ceiling dining room are both delightful. The servers are wonderful and the food is great island fare. Even though we come for the sea food and oysters, we wish there were more vegan options for our family members.
Stopped in this past weekend for pre-dinner drinks with friends. We stood at the host's stand while the staff walked around, but never acknowledged us as the only people there. I had to walk towards the server next to the bar who had looked at us, but did not come over. We then walked into the bar, past the bartender and again stood there long enough that the bartender was able to finish his story about his workout and food regimen. I can appreciate finishing your thought, but this was awkwardly long enough for us to speak to each other about how awkwardly long we were standing there.

Harry, our server was Awesome!!! Ambience is really nice too. Wine us a little pricey. Besides that we loved it!
We had an excellent dinner here. We sat outside in the lovely garden, it was wonderful setting. The food was very good, especially the miso cod! My husband had the coppino which he said was very good, but the other dinners were outstanding, not to mention the key lime pie. Service was excellent!!! Definitely going there again this vacation! Thank you.
We made a reservation for our anniversary and were seated at a lovely table in a private corner of the outside patio. with a wonderful view of the lawn and grounds. Our server was attentive and friendly, the food (cod and steak) was excellent, and our chocolate cake dessert came surrounded by "Happy Anniversary" writing. It was very quiet and peaceful- great for any party where hearing impairment is an issue. Plus as it got dark the lighting on the patio, and especially on the three-tiered fountain, was beautiful. We would recommend BI Oyster Bar & Grimm to anyone for a special occasion or just a special night out. There were quite a few children there too and some great distractions for them- a giant-sized chess board, a small flock of chickens and two cows in a fenced off area to one side. We will definitely be back!
We had an absolutely wonderful dinner here, sitting out in the garden. The setting was unbelievably gorgeous and serene - photos don’t do it any justice. Service was great, and food was delicious. Everything was very refined, it’s the perfect spot for a special occasion. We had the miso glazed cod, which was our favorite - and the seafood cioppino soup, which was good too. We also had oysters, which were excellent. The mains were on the pricier side (mostly around $35-45), but the portions were big. Drinks were good too, if not a little strong. We will absolutely return here next time we’re on Block Island.

Perfect way to end a gorgeous day on Block Island! We ate outside and it was so lovely under the trees. Stuffies appetizers was very good. Very fresh. Chicken mac and cheese was delicious. Not overly cheesy with nice seasonings. Scallops were to die for. The only complaint was that the oysters were from Prince Edward Island. So many great oyster farms in Rhode Island. Let's keep it local. We would definitely return.
