This edition is for "Victoria's Bistro" aka the bar dressed up as a dining room. Quite the room it is with it's nods to the grandeur of the Spring House...but, it is a bar. The Barn has the Dining Room vibe character and food. One has the feeling they may share a kitchen. Back to the bar ... drinks are what you'd expect on the Block. Except 5 star kudos to the wine buyer. Apps start to inch up with Squash Bisque at 11.00 and Beet Salad at 18.00. After the drinks and menus evaporate, entrees begin to roll in ... well timed at that. Shrimp n Grits aka polenta- somewhat dry, Mushroom Ravioli at 36.00, Halibut Special 44.00 and a NY Strip Steak (NOT rib eye) at over 55.00. Yeah, yeah, yeah ... it averaged out to about $90.00+ per person. In a bar, a grand bar, but a bar with a view of the room. All that said ... we'll be back ... for dinner on the deck overlooking the ocean.

I should have requested a different table. We were sat next to - shared bench - a loud group. We were lost. The wait staff was attentive and the food good. It was our surroundings that put a damper on the evening. We will come again and I still recommend this restaurant to friends. Just an off night for us.

The host/maitre d was rude and dismissive. Remainder of staff was polite, friendly, and accommodating, but busgirl removed my husband's plate before I was near finished with my meal. Food was absolutely excellent as was the ambiance.

We returned to Block Island for our 41st wedding anniversary. We had a very good dinner at the Spring House. The restaurant is lovely and the wait staff was very attentive. We both had a great dinner from start to finish.

From the atmosphere to the staff everything was perfect. The scallops , tuna and steak were cooked to perfection. The staff is extremely friendly , patient and helpful. You will not be disappointed with any of the menu options and just about every view is beautiful when you sit outside .

When five long-time friends want to celebrate getting together we chose The Spring House. The bonus was that one of the servers was a friend of one of the couples and getting together with him was a great surprise! The food was great but the service was the icing! Steve was not the “friend” but he made us feel very much at home! We all indulged ourselves complete with wine and desserts. What a great evening! Thanks to everyone at the Spring House for great memories!

My wife tripped on a dog who stuck out its paw near the outside bar. She fell very hard. It was in the aisle. Could have been a disaster. Staff should not let that happen. Davion was right on the scene to help her out. Great waiter and a credit to the Spring House.

We have always had great food and experience overall in the past, but this time was disappointing. The linguini with clam sauce was very bland and one of the legs on our folding table collapsed while we were sitting at it. Luckily we were able to save the wine from spilling all over us and we had not been served our food yet,but it was disturbing and a little embarrassing to happen at a fine dining establishment. The manager came over when our meal was almost over and gave a half hearted apology. He said there was a wedding earlier and he had told everyone to make sure the legs were all locked in place but they must not have. After we had already received our bill my friend went over to him to ask if he would at least pay for a round of our drinks he said it wasn't his fault! After explaining that as the manager he is indeed responsible he agreed to give us 1 dessert for the 4 of us.

Food and service were very good. Only complaint there is no draft beer at any of the bars! Strange for such a large establishment. Also if you're counting on using the Adirondack chairs on the lawn you may not have that experience with so many large groups taking over the outside area. I assumed they were wedding parties.

Celebrated our 42nd wedding anniversary with another couple. We've been on Block island many times before, but had never eaten at the Spring House. I was looking for someplace special and the Spring House did not disappoint! The setting is mazing, and the ambiance was comfortable yet upscale. our waitstaff was amazing, and gave us some good recommendations regarding our drink and dinner choices. Prices were reasonable (for BI) and the food was outstanding. Looking forward to returning next year. My only advice is that when I made a reservation nation, it asked if this was a special occasion, and I indicated it being our anniversary. it would have been nice to have had that recognized in some way. Again, a minor disappointment in an otherwise special evening!

Great place for a cocktail on the lawn with a lovely view of the ocean. The outdoor experience was great. But once seated for dinner it was more disappointing. We were asked if we wanted to be seated on the outdoor patio, but declined because it was cold. We were assured that it was covered and heaters were used so it would be comfortable. Unfortunately where they sat us the two heaters on each side of our table were broken. Entree was mediocre and overpriced. I had the salmon, which was dry and not tender. Corn pizza was delicious, as well as the sea scallop appetizer. The waiter never returned after the entrees were delivered to see if we needed anything, until it was time to offer us dessert. I would come back for drinks and snacks on the lawn, but unlikely to return for dinner.

Beautiful hotel. Classic dining room. I had the tuna which was amazing. My wife had the cod which was extremely Sammy., the burrata salad was amazing and clam chowder was good. A little bit it miss in food but a solid Bi choice

Though the Spring house restaurant is usually a great experience, yesterday's experience was less desirable. The noise level was offensive...not sure why, perhaps the loud crowds...but also the clearing of tables (loud banging of plates and glasses!) perhaps intensified the noise level. Not sure why honestly...but I found it much louder than usual. The staff was friendly and helpful....but one of the bus boys (though very sweet and attentive) had B.O. that was off putting. In a restaurant environment, B.O is never acceptable!

The Black and Blue martini and Cosmo on the lawn were fabulous. For dinner we started with steamed mussels which were also excellent. One of our mains we had was sesame crusted tuna which was also cooked to perfection. The baked cod however was not baked - it was boiled. The casserole dish the cod came in was filled with water to the point it covered the cod and the olives and capers were floating in the water. Very disappointed. You should take cod off the menu until you can prepare it properly.

Had reserved a table on the porch and was moved to the downstairs on the lawn, with the playing kids. Oh joy. Hostess had an attitude that carried over to the first person who greeted us at the table. The eventual waitress was making a solid effort but when I see people seated after me eating while I sit for 30 minutes I become hangry.
