Awesome service, food and ambiance . Great seats at counter watching the chef's cook!

Richard was our waiter and he is knowledgeable, attentive and experienced. Two of us had the Halibut special and two of us had the chicken. Both portions were generous and both were delicious. The Barn is a great place to have a really great dinner, the wait time between courses allows for conversation and enjoyment of a well made cocktail or nice glass of wine. The Barn is a gem, as well as a life saver during the off-season. A++

Our table included a 6 year old girl and Julie, our waitress, was great to her and to us. She accommodated our special request for the salmon, just in case our niece did not like the fish. (She did!) Julie made great suggestions regarding the menu and she was attentive and friendly. We ordered the burger, the stuffies (special), the steak and the salmon. The restaurant is a great place to meet neighbors and make new friends. We have never had a bad meal here, nor have we ever had poor service. The Barn is consistently great whether you sit in the restaurant area or at the bar where Annie has it down pat!

Wonderful first spring weekend dinner experience! We decided to visit Block Island the first spring weekend and was actually looking to go to Eli's but they are but yet open. Great surprise in going to the barn. It was very lively for a Saturday evening in March. They had great specials, the food was very good and the service was excellent. Look forward to going back!

Quaint and cozy. This is a Great place to have dinner at. We've been there multiple times and each time there we have always had a very nice server or bartender. Food is Consistently great.. One of our must stop spots when visiting Block Island

Unfortunately, this restaurant really disappointed us last night. Our server, Amanda, was lovely and accommodating, but that couldn't make up for the quality of the food. The one thing that was delicious was the garlic olive oil dip for the rolls.
Here were the problems:
Scallops served on butternut puree was dreadful and had to be sent back. The strong smell of fish was the first red flag. Then, the puree was cold, the scallops very salty, and the flavor overall just wrong.
Next, Panzenella Salad with burrata was not Panzenella, but dry unseasoned croutons throughout. Cucumber chunks instead of slices were sloppy. Dressing was flavorless, burrata served ice cold. A dish that could have been delicious was made without finesse
Carrot cake: why drizzle loads of raspberry sauce on carrot cake? So 1980s, to drizzle everything in a sauce, and to use a sauce that doesn’t mix well with the main item is thoughtless and sloppy.

By far the best restaurant we ate at during our visit to Block Island. Farm-to-table, chef driven menu that rotates seasonally. Everything was prepared excellently and to our preferences, service was great, and the restaurant had a great ambiance that felt cozy and upscale, but not too pretentious. Will definitely come back!

OUTSTANDING as always, except this time we sat at Chefs counter. What an incredible meal, it was so much fun watching the fellas cool, it was like being in Kitchen Stadium; watching a symphony, those fellas really know what they're doing, they are professional, never got flustered, engaged in friendly kitchen chit-chat banter while they prepared all the meals. Service was great, and cocktails were on point. We absolutely LOVE The Barn, highly recommend, 2 very enthusiastic thumbs up!

the food was fabulous. the space and the ambiance was comfortable and pleasant. a misstep by the waiter put a slight damper on the service. overall the experience was terrific and memorable.

We have been dining on Block Island for years and our last two visits to The Barn have been underwhelming. We had reservations but the back room was very, very warm so we asked to sit at the bar. We seated ourselves there and the bartenders did not greet us, took a bit to acknowledge us and never asked if we wanted a second drink! My husbands boullabaisse was very good but my salad with added scallops was not. The salad itself had perhaps 4 cherry tomatoes cut in half, some tiny bits of cucumber, pickled red onion and cubed bread. It had been completely overdressed with strong balsamic and the 4 scallops I received for the additional $18 were lackluster. for over $40 one would assume that salad and scallops would have been far better than they were. For the price, I would absolutely not recommend this restaurant.

We have dined at The Barn many times over many years. The quality of the dining experience has never been a disappointment. Everyone in our party agreed that the food was delicious. The price is comparable with other fine dining restaurants on Block Island.
