I have a serious food allergy to corn syrup and advised the server. She returned to my table and advised my meal did not have corn starch. I reminded her I am allergic to corn syrup. She never returned to the table to provide status if I could in fact eat the dish I ordered. A second server did deliver my food and I inquired if the dish contained corn syrup and he assured me I could eat the fried fish sandwich I ordered. I wish my server had let me know or if I needed to find an alternative meal. I would have given 5 stars. Otherwise the meal was delicious, the atmosphere perfect, and I always love coming him and being a loyal customer because on average they take great care of people with food allergies!

This was our first time at 22 Bowens. It was AMAZING! We celebrated our anniversary and the staff was so nice and accommodating. Sarah was our server and she took the best care of us. We definitely will come back. The tomahawk steak was a 15/10.

Absolutely fantastic experience! I wish I remembered our servers name, but he was great. Service was super fast. Food was delicious. I came when they had Newport burger bender going on across the area and the Wagyu bacon burger they offered was out of this world!! Would love to come back again soon, perhaps outside dining when it's warmer out.

The food is fantastic across the board—everything is fresh, perfectly prepared, and lives up to the restaurant's high reputation. Whether you're there for the local seafood or their signature cuts, the quality is top-tier.
The service really makes the experience. The staff is incredibly professional and attentive, making you feel taken care of without being overbearing. They’re also great at navigating their massive wine list to find the perfect pairing. can't wait to go back !!!!!

it wasn't bad, but it wasn't good either, service and food both mediocre at best. For that price I want more than not bad
Alexandra was our waitress tonight and she was very knowledgeable and so nice. Her recommendations were great. The salted caramel chocolate chip gelato was delicious. We will definitely be back!

Despite how fancy the restaurant is, you can go in wearing regular pants and a shirt.
The ambiance is so fancy that the lighting is super low.And there are white tablecloths everywhere. We happen to get a marvelous view of the boats. The restaurant is right near the wharf or where the boats are parked, so that maybe why the restaurant is expensive. And because it was still winter, there were twinkling lights strung up all around them. The prices may be reflecting on the location of the restaurant.
It's a very elegant restaurant with prices to match. There is steak, seafood, but for most of the food, I found it way too expensive and not exactly enough choices for me. And I was disappointed by that. It just seemed too expensive. I do have to say that there is an extensive amount of liquor and types of drinks and bar is huge.
Eventually I did find a fish that I like that was on the menu, and I made one minor adjustment. And that was fine with them, they were very flexible. The food was fantastic. Especially according to my family, I can't describe what everyone got.
But i'll try. I think whatever my mom got was in shells, in a huge/ generous size bowl and she just went through it all. She loved it and doesn't usually eat that much in one setting..And it just was so good.
My husband got a steak because he doesn't like seafood.And there weren't a lot of options that weren't seafood.And I think that's a drawback.
My father loves seafood and had so much in newport, but decided to take a break and get a steak as well as my husband and he really liked it. He did though get a lobster soup, and he ate it all up. The bread they gave us was delicious. They brought rolls that were warm, fresh and you could put some butter, and it would just melt in your mouth. But putting butter on it is a totally personal choice. My husband said they didn't need it. Unfortunately, I wished I had ordered a salad before the main meal because I was so hungry but that has nothing to do with the restaurant .And I was very hungry. So I ate a lot of the bread!
I do think it was atrociously expensive. Even the sides were. I was just trying to get a side for myself. This concept didn't exist, so I had to get a large one that was extremely expensive. I got their 22Bowen mashed/whipped potatoes. I do have to say they were delicious.
The desserts were extremely good.
We were all shocked when we first looked at the menu and they actually had steak that was either a hundred and fifty or two hundred dollars.Because it was kobe beef in the usa I believe.
But we did go there to also celebrate my mother's birthday. And so that kind of place with this ambiance that I've described, is a really good place for celebration.
The waitress we had was phenomenal. She was very helpful and was attentive. And she was friendly! We even had a chat.
So all in all I feel like I've repeated a bunch of takeaways. It's expensive, it's extremely high nd, it's fancy. You can get extremely good food. But it's not the type of restaurant I would go back tovoften because I don't think the price is reflected the food.

Fabulous food as always. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable when reviewing food and beverage selections! He answered all questions regarding preparations and seasoning. Always a pleasure dining at Bowens 22!
We've dined here before and we LOVE IT every time. The staff is so sweet, especially our server Jen, and helpful and the location in Newport with the snow outside is adorable. Get the wagyu dumplings!!!
We had a wonderful experience as usual at 22 buttons we were celebrating my husband‘s birthday and everything was perfect. A beef. Wellington was the special last night and we both ordered it and it was just delicious. Thank you to our wonderful server. I'm so sorry. I cannot remember her name, but she was wonderful.
22 Bowens is excellent. The location on a peire was beautiful. Tons of shops around. We chose to be seated inside for the A/C. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable of the menu. We started with very yummy salads. Then our beautiful steaks and great side dishes.
22 Bowen's is a must go too!!
