22 Bowen's Wine Bar & Grille

What an amazing dinner! We were able to take advantage of the Newport County Dinner Book ( BOGO) AND use a gift certificate we had received. Both entrees were excellent.. the yellowfin tuna special was prepared perfectly; my 22B filet mignon was the best steak I have ever had!! Flavorful, tender- cut like butter, and perfectly prepared, medium rare. We also had the lobster bisque- so delicious with lots of lobster chunks to savor. We loved the yummy dense chocolate torte. Also, our server, Brittany B was excellent. Great food, ambiance and great service! Excellent all around! We'll be back!

We came to 22 Bowen's last night for a birthday dinner and it was impeccable! The scallop appetizer was excellent, just the right amount of truffle and everything tasted fresh. The American wagyu filet was unbelievable, we could cut it with a fork and was the best steak either one of us has ever had. The accompaniments/sides were generously sized, we got the mushrooms which were so flavorful and then the parmesan truffle fries which were crispy and delicious. The flourless chocolate cake with raspberry was rich and perfectly textured. Our waiter was so kind and knowledgeable and made the experience even more enjoyable. The atmosphere is buzzing and fun. We were there for over 2 hours and really enjoyed ourselves, didn't feel rushed but also weren't waiting between courses. We live a couple hours away but already can't wait to be back!

If there was any way to give my stars I would. Spectacular food, drinks, ambiance , server and staff. 12 out of 10

Beef Wellington came out almost raw on the inside, but when they returned the dinners to the table, they were absolutely one of the top 5 in my life. Enclosed outdoor seating area was a bit of a disappointment as temperature had a 20 degree swing when the forced air heat blower cycled off.
Big turnoff was the NYC-ish 26 dollars to park in the lot for about 75 minutes.
Did not see an hourly rate sign or I would have definitely found a street spot!

Everything was amazing! The food was delicious, with each dish expertly prepared and bursting with flavor, from the savory oysters and calamari to the perfectly seasoned steaks and seafood. The atmosphere was cozy and beautifully set up with warm lighting, comfortable seating, and tasteful decor, creating an inviting environment. Service was attentive and friendly, with prompt responses to our needs. Prices were very reasonable and matched the high quality of the food perfectly, offering great value for a memorable dining experience.
Additionally I made some of most beautiful photos of the sunset. It was incredible and great to see it even as a local person.

Despite the restaurant being bustling with guests, the hostess promptly greeted us with a warm smile and swiftly escorted us to a beautifully set table overlooking the picturesque harbor. The view alone was a treat, with the gentle sparkle of the water and boats in the marina creating a quintessential Newport ambiance.
Our waiter, Filipe, was an absolute delight, attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, he made us feel like valued guests from the start. We began our meal with a selection of fresh oysters, which were impeccably shucked and brimming with briny, ocean-fresh flavor. Next came the lobster bisque, which was nothing short of divine. The soup was velvety, creamy, and bursting with rich lobster essence, with a generous portion that felt indulgent yet perfectly balanced. It’s easily one of the best bisques we’ve ever tasted.
For our main course, we opted for 22 Bowen’s famous fish and chips, and it did not disappoint. I was initially concerned about the dish being heavy or greasy, as fried foods can sometimes be, but I was pleasantly surprised. The fish was perfectly cooked, encased in a light, crispy batter that was flavorful without a hint of excess oil. The fries were golden and crisp, complementing the fish beautifully. Every bite was a testament to the kitchen’s skill and commitment to quality.
The entire experience, from the seamless service to the outstanding food and stunning harbor views, made our afternoon unforgettable. 22 Bowen’s captures the essence of Newport’s charm while delivering a dining experience that exceeds expectations. We’re already looking forward to our next visit and wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Newport.
