I wanted to keep eating even though I was so full because everything was so delicious. “Today we made a pilgrimage to Basil Yu’s restaurant, Yagi Noodles. My son happened to see that Basil had become a successful restaurateur while he was watching one of Guy Fieri’s shows. We had become acquainted with Basil when we were all involved with a Boy Scout Troop in Manchester NH. We were disappointed to discover that Basil wasn’t at the restaurant, however we got over it when we found out it was due to a commitment to a fundraiser for the James Beard Foundation. Basil, You weren’t there, but your food is delicious. You get the Merit Badge! You weren’t there, but your staff is spectacular! You get the Merit Badge! We wish you continued success! “Oldest running tavern in the US with fine dining options. We absolutely loved the history and ambiance of the place. The restaurant is multi story which I’m assuming has to do with being in the NE, but we had a private room to ourselves. We got the duck scotch egg, grand sampler, and beef Wellington. All were so good. We’ve even tried the beef Wellington at Gordon Ramsays restaurants and I’ll say this was even better!! The waitress was so kind and attentive even bringing out an extra plate to our nephew who came with us.”

“This bar and eatery was very local to where we were staying on vacation and I ended up going 3 nights in a row! The bartender Amanda was super pleasant and made one hell of old fashion! Was there during the Halloween karaoke on Saturday 10/26/24 and had a blast! If you’re in the area stop by and have Amanda make you a drink!”

“Very professional experience, we have been to Bouchard/ Chanterelle before and never disappointed. From entering the restaurant and being seated to leaving at the end of the evening. Chanterelle continues to add that little touch you don't see much of anymore. We were impressed with the food, the incredible service, and the ambiance. Max, our waiter, was great and very accommodating. I highly recommend trying Chanterelle.”

The owner Paul is so nice and his staff is so friendly. I'm always greeted with a smile.

I especially love getting a juice from here after yoga around the corner, but from time to time I'll get a smoothie or the coconut bacon BLT. The BLT is just as good as real bacon, I think there's some kind of black magic involved in the recipe.

The atmosphere is nice, especially sitting out front and watching the people walk by. Very enjoyable on a nice sunny day.”

“This was such a cute little thai restaurant I found in Newport with my friends as we were all craving a nice little dessert and we wanted some mango sticky rice which was some of the best ive had in a long time!! It was a decent portion for the price and it was absolutely delicious. We also go the coconut ice cream and some iced thai teas which were also amazing. The restaurant was so cute inside they even have some outdoor seating. Customer service was great the staff is super kind. Even though we didn’t have any apps or entrees, it gives us a reason to come back and try more! I will be returning any time I come back to Newport!!”

“My fiancé and I stopped here on a Friday night for the first time. We had tried a handful of other bars in Newport that were all packed but when we walked into Bar 12 it was almost empty. I ordered the Secret Garden cocktail and was so impressed with the presentation! It tasted as good as it looked too! I stopped by again this past Friday with four of my friends and tried the lemon meringue drink this time. It was amazing- super sweet and tasted just like a lemon bar! The prices are really reasonable for the quality of the cocktails and the location. The atmosphere is perfect for a date night or small groups, the bathroom was super clean, and overall I’m just really shocked it wasn’t more crowded both times I went!”

Joe saw us walking to our Airbnb and yelled at us on the street asking when we were headed back home. Joe is a gem of a bartender. He has a gift of gab and can hand out the bs too. Nice local establishment with friendly customers and bartenders. We had Dan as a bartender too and he was a friendly, great guy! “An impressive new(ish) facility in an unassuming location, especially because we live nearby and never noticed the place until they put a big new sign out on the road. Bright, modern, and clean. Inside is a bit fancier than expected, in a good way, compared to the back outdoor patio and lounge area, which is really nice in its own right. Just a good vibe all around and good folk working there. On a warm day, the outdoor bar and cornhole can’t be beat. Selection is solid, as they’ve updated their beer offerings to keep up with the hazy IPA trend. They could use some food trucks or something to eat, especially on the weekends, as they only sell beverages.

Update for October 2024 now that Wally’s has officially moved in to sell their delicious food right out of the kitchen! Trivia Thursdays are fun and the food is great, ranging from dogs to fried chicken to burgers. Had a couple tasty lagers, as well. Good to see their lager game is strong.”

Unfortunately, I was there yesterday, ordered the sticky wings which are a favorite, looked like the kitchen just poured a container of sesame seeds all over them and were inedible. Bartender did comp one of our drinks, but could have offered to take them back for a new batch or even sent them back before he served them. Was definitely disappointing.”

“Clarke Cooke House in Newport, Rhode Island, is a popular spot, especially on weekends in the summer, so reservations are a must. I visited with a group of five on a Saturday in August, and it was packed. I ordered the mussels in a white wine garlic sauce, which were delicious, paired with the petite frites. However, my mother-in-law had a less-than-ideal experience with the salmon toast; they were out of cream cheese and charged her extra to substitute grilled onions, which didn't go over well. The rest of the group enjoyed their meals. While the prices are on the higher side, it’s expected for Newport. The location is fantastic, but the interior is a bit tight, especially during busy times. Overall, it's a nice spot to visit, just be prepared for some trade-offs.”

“Great little bar/pub. When other places had plenty of seating but told us we'd have to wait for an hour, we got right in at Buskers, even though they were packed! Drinks and appetizers came lightning quick and the server was pleasant. Highly recommended!”
