“We enjoyed having breakfast at this wonderful place while in Newport, RI. The people who own it and those who work there are AMAZING, friendly, and take the time to talk to customers while keeping service at the top of their list. They (from the kitchen to the front door) look like they love working there and have created a loving family environment. Of course, the line was out the door and down the street, but that was okay because everyone enjoyed visiting each other. There is just one warning, the portions are enormous. You know when my husband can't finish it, it's a lot. 🤣“

“If you’re coming to visit Newport and haven’t heard of Jo’s, it’s because it’s a hidden gem! Amazing local farm-to-table options that keep us and those who visit us asking to go back to that one place in Newport, I really loved! The service to guests with one or more allergies was superb! The chef personally came to our table on each visit to discuss what meals were safe to order. I have multiple allergies, so sometimes they would have made me my own off-the-menu special dish. I’ve never gotten sick once, and everyone who goes there with us when they visit always asks to go back on their next trip! ♥️“

“Steph and the team at scratch were SUPERB! Our catering order was perfect (tho we were sad the croissant machine was down) every thing was piping hot (or nice an cool). Everything was SOOO good. Ordering was easy, Steph ensured we had a great variety and enough to feed the post-wedding crowd. We did have breakfast here and it was stellar! “Root in Newport — Newport’s only fully vegan spot, and everything feels so fresh. It’s such a cute, cozy little place with a couple of outdoor tables right on the sidewalk, so our pup could join us. We intentionally ate light since we had dinner at Foglia later. I got the Just Egg Violife cheese on an English muffin. It was tasty and well prepared, but not especially unique. I’m wondering if they’d add some of their coconut bacon from the BLT to the breakfast sandwich next time to take it up a level! Hubby got the avocado toast, which was creamy and bright with pickled onion — really tasty. They also have more unique options like the chickpea salad sandwich and coconut bacon BLT that I’d love to try next time when we’re not trying to keep things light. Afterward, we headed to Fort Adams, which is pup-friendly, and finished with some Del’s watermelon. Such a fun Newport day!“

“Just finished great meal. Huge lobster roll, high quality kids chicken and big beefy kids burger. I had the fish n chips which was amazing! Old Bay fries and what had to be a whole Cod! The best part was Peter N. He was very informative, quick in serving the kids which lets Mom and Dad relax. Such a great day and great meal.“

“We were vacationing in Newport from Wisconsin and stopped in at Cappy’s. Sue the bartender was friendly and a wonderful bartender. The owner Joe, what can I say….what a guy! Joe saw us walking to our Airbnb and yelled at us on the street asking when we were headed back home. Joe is a gem of a bartender. He has a gift of gab and can hand out the bs too. Nice local establishment with friendly customers and bartenders. We had Dan as a bartender too and he was a friendly, great guy! “Today we made a pilgrimage to Basil Yu’s restaurant, Yagi Noodles. My son happened to see that Basil had become a successful restaurateur while he was watching one of Guy Fieri’s shows. We had become acquainted with Basil when we were all involved with a Boy Scout Troop in Manchester NH. We were disappointed to discover that Basil wasn’t at the restaurant, however we got over it when we found out it was due to a commitment to a fundraiser for the James Beard Foundation. Basil, You weren’t there, but your food is delicious. You get the Merit Badge! You weren’t there, but your staff is spectacular! You get the Merit Badge! We wish you continued success! Jasmine green tea was pretty good (7/10) We really liked the decaf coffee (9/10) what a treat. The regular coffee was not noteworthy, but fine. Nitro’s is much better. Great breakfast sandwich, grab and go ready!“

“Grab a big group of friends and venture over to Newport Craft Brewing. On a nice day, sit on the rooftop patio and play some games while having some drinks and food. On a super hot or cool day, hang out indoors which is also a great spot!

We were a big group of friends (13 total) and this was the perfect casual spot for us. Our group got a variety of drinks- beer and mixed drinks. The feedback was everyone liked their drinks. They also have Wally’s Wieners there for good, which does not disappoint.

So our recommendation is grab some friends, spend a couple hours here adding this stop to your newport itinerary 🍻

“Del’s Lemonade is the perfect place to grab a refreshing drink, especially on a hot day. The lemonade is ice-cold, flavorful, and has just the right balance of sweetness and tartness. It’s incredibly refreshing and always hits the spot.

It is a bit pricey for a frozen lemonade, but honestly, it’s worth it. The quality and taste make it a treat that’s hard to pass up. The service was quick, and the classic Del’s experience never disappoints.

If you're looking for a refreshing drink to cool off, Del’s Lemonade is definitely worth a stop. I’ll be coming back whenever I'm in the area!“

The large wraparound deck is so cute & cozy, like a farmhouse porch. & the coffee 🤩 I had a tiramisu latte last time, a cherry Garcia latte this time- I was not disappointed either time, the flavors were accurate without being overwhelming or weakening the espresso, & oh so delicious. The food is even better; the attention to detail & balance of flavor in the dishes is off the charts. I recommend the avocado toast or whipped feta plate, and if you’re not into coffee, their teas and lemonades are just as amazing.“

Our varsity team was playing nearby at St. George’s Arena, and she was incredibly friendly, professional, and responsive while taking our order. We placed a very large order, and everything was handled perfectly. The food was delivered exactly at the time we requested, and every item was clearly labeled just as we asked, which was especially important because of food allergies on the team. That level of care and attention really meant a lot to us. We would absolutely call Nikolas Pizza again when we’re in the area and highly recommend them—especially if you’re working with a big group. “I was visiting Newport and decided to stop by your shop with a friend to get ice cream around 4pm on August 31st when we pointed out to the young guy making the order that he gave me the wrong cone. After pointing out that we asked for waffle cone he became very rude and started throwing things around and even swore. Needless to say we will not be returning there again.“

Plastic tables and chairs was not what I was looking for. We ended up staying and they were very nice but the place was totally empty. It's a bar that serves food not really a restaurant at least we didn't see any indoor seating or maybe I missed it. If you are looking for something uber casual this is your spot.“

“Absolutely great food and service. Dined last Saturday evening with two of our teen and preteen grandchildren. All of us enjoyed our meals and the service was on point. This next point deserves mentioning as it speaks to the culture of the establishment: When my granddaughter became ill (NOT food related), the manager came over immediately to help comfort her… she brought hot tea and took her to more private quarters to relax until her discomfort passed. We were impressed and remain grateful for the compassion and level of care exhibited. We will continue to visit again and again in the future. Many thanks!!!“

We did not stay overnight, but the suites are nicely furnished and decorated. There is plenty of space in the 3 bedroom suites.“
