“Great food…the scallop chowder was fab as were the lobster fritters…hands down Mike our waiter was perfect…great suggestions, (he suggested other restaurants in the area owned by the same company) great service…nice, knowledgeable and a great server…we came back a second night and requested to sit in his section…that is how good he is…Mike the manager is delightful as well…all the staff have great memories and were quick to welcome us back…ps Lauren the trainee was spot on as well!“
“Unique culinary experience. We got the wine tasting and non alcoholic tasting.. I’d recommend both. They enhanced the flavors and enriched the experience.Food was great and filling.Staff was kind and knowledgeable. We sat in a small quiet dining room, although the hotel was beautiful, we would have preferred the larger dining room.I would go back ?“
“I was pleasantly surprised. Most places rob you when it comes to payment for portion size. Not newport lobster shack! I wanted to wait for a lobster roll until later in the season but the wife had other plans and we stumbled upon the shack. It was still cold to me so unfortunately we were not able to sit outside. The area was clean, staff was happy to be there, and food was good.Go there and stop reading my review.“
“The Red Parrot is our family's restaurant that we dine at every time we visit Newport. Whether being seated at a table with a great view or seated at the bar the friendly, professional service is still the same. Their food is excellent, with many selections to satisfy everyone's preferences. Also, a wonderful assortment of cocktails. Highly recommend if you are visiting Newport.“
“It is very rare to find a restaurant where everything is exceptional! We were served by Kim. She is a gem! We totally felt at home in this beautiful restaurant. Our meals were huge and delicious. The place was packed and everyone seemed to be enjoying their Monday night out!“
“Our server Nick was super attentive and helpful in ordering! The cocktails are so fun and I loved the mocktail menu! The plates are shareable which is great because I wanted to try a few things! The atmosphere and decor is beyond amazing! I just kept looking at all the tiny details that made the vibe feel very authentic tiki bar! Along w great tunes and a gorgeous view of the harbor and Newport Bridge!“

“Amazing find for breakfast! It seems like a small mom and pop restaurant, very limited seating. The service was some of the best I've had! The food was quick and very good. Even prices were way below what I would expect in a tourist area! Kind of disappointed in the Hunts not Heinz ketchup, but I'll live! This place is worth a stop for sure!“
“Great experience for my group of 8. We enjoyed having a pre-dinner cocktail at the bar with a seamless transition to our round dining table (love round tables!) which worked so well for keeping the conversation flowing over a beautiful dinner.“
“Mori Sushi has the best sushi on the island. We usually dine at the restaurant and always have friendly and fast service. Tonight, we ordered take-out but forgot to add a Japanese soda through doordash. I called the restaurant and the manager was able to finagle his way into the doordash order and add the soda to it. He made a 6 year old kid very happy and I am grateful for his efforts.Love, love, love this place!“
“Food was amazing, service was excellent, atmosphere was adorable... so why 4 stars? After such a nice experience, having to figure out the bill for 6 individual diners really detracted from the experience. We passed the slip around, scribbled notes on scrap paper collected cards and cash and then the server was unable to figure it out. Our bill was over $300. Why, in this day and age, is this establishment unable to figure out how to give us separate checks is beyond me. We are a group of 10 ladies who formed 1 year ago and this is the first time we were told we could not get separate checks. It took 45 min for the manager to figure out our bill so we could pay. Clarke's Cooke House, you need to do better for your diners.Vegetarian options: The 2 vegetarian dishes were ordered were superb!“
“People are all over the place on their Lobster Bar feedback, which honestly makes sense in a way, as I feel like you almost need to know what to order, for the ultimate experience here. The lobster rolls and tacos are very good, so stick with those. Additionally, their stuffies are quite solid, so be sure to order a few of those to start, you are in RI after all. Don't expect high-end or rare wines; the booze options are more of a dive-bar selection. However, the bartenders are quick with the drinks and the smiles, and the view absolutely cannot be beat.“
“The place looks a little sketchy but inside is clean and nice. Very friendly atmosphere and good service. It's a locals bar but they are very friendly. They didn't have food but they brought in for pizza place. Fun casual atmosphere.“
“Excellent Lobster Bisque soup and Lobster Roll! It was a beautiful day in port. They have a food truck at the dock, but we decided we wanted to sit down. It is about a 10 minute walk. There was a short line to order. It was nice and relaxing to enjoy our lunch on the outdoor patio area. They were a bit short staffed, as they were impatient with answering questions. But the food was fabulous. Highly recommend this restaurant.“
“Food is delicious !! Everyone in my party loved their meals. We ordered the fried calamari appetizer (4 people shared it ). The mussels were delicious !! Shrimp piccata with linguine (Yummmm ). Dinner portions were very generous !! Very warm and relaxing atmosphere. Wait staff was wonderful !! I highly recommend this restaurant. You won't be disappointed !!“
“We enjoyed dinner at the Chanler. We sat on the heated porch overlooking the lights of the city over the water. Steven, our waiter was attentive without being intrusive and clearly loved working at the Chanler. Our drinks were delicious and we LOVED being part of the "battle of the burgers" going on in Newport this month. The food, the drinks, the ambiance....sigh...perfection!“
“We stopped here at the recommendation of our hotel. Frozen peanut butter mudslides were awesome. Bartender was very nice. They had limited food available (around 3pm). Hotdogs were good. Really a great place to hang out near the water, away from the crowded warf area. We would go back on our next trip to Newport.“
“On a cold night we were out and about wandering around and trying to find some place to eat. This place had such a cozy/nautical vibe but was also very classy. We were seated immediately and our waitress brought us over some water. There are plenty of options for seating : High tops, bar seating and booths. We ended up going with the specials: Korean BBQ Salmon over peanut butter & coconut noodles ; Jerk Chicken Wings, and the crab cakes. Everything was uniquely flavored and the portions were large. We really enjoyed everything we ordered to include our drinks. We'd recommend coming here if you're ever visiting in the area.“
“In a town guaranteed to deliver delicious seafood, this is the place to get it. Happy hour lunch deal will only set you back $1.50 an oyster. And they’re not small. Settle in with a cheeky beverage and the afternoon on Thames street Newport is all “
“Stopped in for lunch and had a spinach and kale salad with chicken. It was SO delicious! The goat cheese was super creamy. Everyone was so kind and helpful. There was an event going on next door which seemed to bring people in and create more carry out. I will definitely need to come back for dinner service!“
“La Forge Casino is a community icon restaurant that has been serving up family comfort meals since the Gilded Age! Easter Sunday was no exception, as the family meal began with a delectable selection from the brunch buffet. Eggs benedict two ways (original and Florentine), ham, salmon, chicken, sausages, bacon, pancakes, potatoes, mixed vegetables and more was plenty to satisfy. The staff were kind, accommodating and friendly. The atmosphere is historical and seating overlooked the grass courts of the International Tennis Hall of Fame. We often make a beeline to La Forge Casino for lunch or dinner. Check out their dinner specials.“
“A home run. My wife and I ate at the bar and the bartender was outstanding. We had a question regarding the use of garlic in a certain dish and although she was pretty certain she went to the kitchen to confirm. Service was wonderful as was the food and ambiance.“
