As guests of the Newport Marriott Hotel & Spa, this on-site restaurant was very convenient for our first night in town (on a Sunday). The menu/food was better than we might have expected. We especially enjoyed the generous, fresh house salad for starter. Service was a bit aloof at first, but food delivery was well-paced for the meal itself. server was lovely, tabletop was in need of refinishing, would have been more comfortable with a tablecloth, halibut and scallops were fabulous, both rice dishes were dry and without seasoning
They said that they don't take reservations from OpenTable, and that our time is not guaranteed.

MainSail offers a varied breakfast menu with delicious options, including avocado toast that leaves customers satisfied. The buffet provides a decent selection, but some improvements like a dedicated toaster for gluten-free bread could enhance the experience. The atmosphere is calm, prices are reasonable, and the service, especially from Marie, goes above and beyond to ensure a great dining experience. While the hollandaise sauce on the eggs Benedict fell short, overall, MainSail provides a pleasant dining experience with tasty food and excellent service. Visitors often enjoy generous portions, and the friendly staff makes the experience even better. The large windows and morning sunshine create a warm, inviting environment, perfect for families and groups. Although the restaurant was not able to seat a larger group by the window, the food remains highly praised, and many guests look forward to returning.
