“Nice location. The restaurant is very clean, bright, great views. The food was average, portions are on the smaller side. I got the baked stuffed shrimp, it came with only four med size shrimp, very little stuffing, a small sweet potato and undercooked green beans. I usually cannot finish my meal, and I left hungry. I would give it another chance if in the area, but wouldn’t go out of my way.“

“My go-to order in most places would be a Reuben. The quality of the meat, bread and the balance with the sauerkraut, sauce & cheese say a lot about how the restaurant approaches their food. The 02878 is the best Reuben sandwich I have ever had the pleasure of eating. Now I will have to find another go-to for other restaurants because they will pale in comparison to Localz 02878.“

“I have had breakfast here w/ a group of HS graduate friends on numerous occasions.. The food was always good, and in spite of the variations ordered, delicious, hot, and served all at the same time. Waitresses were always pleasant, polite and good humored. (Image the ribbing they took from 6 to 10 older men! Friday, 3/15/24 ,my wife, my sister, my nephew and I had the dinner special for 2. Each :Cup of Chowder, 2 Clam Cakes, Fries, and Fish. EXCELLENT in every sense of the word and good portions! Fridays are an absolute win because of the $1 raw bar—great quality oysters at that price are hard to beat, and they were super fresh. What really made the experience stand out, though, was our server Mercy. She was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed without ever feeling rushed. “Had a hankering Sunday evening for an elite Lobstah Roll while in Newport, RI so I did a lil internet searching and Luke's was consistently at the top of the list. Checked out their menu online and saw they offered a Lobster Roll flight! SOLD! Off I went to find parking and get an order ASAP. Found Luke's on the corner on the Wharf and got to ordering with a quickness. Lobster Roll Sampler with three 2 oz half-rolls: lemon butter, spicy honey butter, and truffle butter w/ chips and a soft drink. Choice of Sea Salt or Sea Salt and Vinegar Kettle Chips, and choice of beverage. I got the Sea Salt and Vinegar (duh) and Blueberry Lemonade in a glass bottle. The lobster in their rolls comes cold, but for a $1 upcharge, you can get it warm, which is my preference. I also got an affordably priced Poppy Seed Slaw. Folks - these Lobster Rolls deserve top billing on "Best Of" lists. My fav might have been the truffle butter lobster roll. It adds something I never knew a lobster roll was missing, but they were all delectable. The roll makes the roll, though. Buttery sourdough with the perfect thin layer of crisp. All flavors were well-balanced and left me wanting more, even though it was plenty food to make a satisfying meal with maybe/maybe not room for dessert. I honestly didn't get any dessert nearby because I didn't want to lose the taste of what I just had! The Poppy Slaw was different, but in a good, not-too-different way. It was a little on the dryer side for my liking, but I liked it just the same. I am sorry to other local Lobster Roll vendors because I don't think I'll try anywhere new on my next visit. It'll be Luke's, no doubt. I might even make a special trip just for the rolls sooner rather than later, but that time I will try the chowder too!“

“I had a birthday celebration at this restaurant. We sat near the cozy fireplace on a chilly night. The cheeseboard (varied cheeses, focaccia bread, honey, blackberries, nuts, jam, greens) and Pt. Judith calamari were beautifully presented. Excellent bottle of Pinot Grigio from Tuscany, Italy added to food, Staff was very accomodating. I enjoyed mussels, scallops, little necks over pasta in scampi sauce. Others had the salmon as well as the bolognese. It's a very roomy, quiet setting near the water. Staff came out to sing happy birthday with a luscious ice cream dessert with a candle on top. I was pleasantly surprised. We will return to this place for sure!“

“We had an outstanding experience here on Easter Sunday. From start to finish, everything was excellent—both the food and the service were truly top tier. Our waitress was engaging, personable, and even took the time to share some Rhode Island folklore with us, which made the evening feel extra special. We’re visiting from Long Island and touring URI, and this was easily one of the highlights of our trip. The cod and sole were beautifully prepared and absolutely delicious. I attended Endicott College back in the day and remembered sitting on rocks in Rockport with bunch of friends, enjoying the fresh, local seafood. 🍤 I recently noticed this brand while shopping and although pricey, I decided to try it for lunch today. The boil bag was easy peasy, enough for two bowls and like I mentioned to poster below, I purchased some RANA lobster ravioli that were void of any indication of lobster, although it was listed as second ingredient on packaging. I combined the two. What a delight with great flavor, thick broth and satisfying product. It’s what I purchased when your New England establishment is a distance away. It’s next best thing! 😋🦞“

If you’ve ever been to the famous Oyster Bar in Grand Central station, this place is just as good. Definitely NYC prices for oysters $3.50/ oyster but that seemed to be the average price for a lot of the places in Newport.

The scallops were extremely fresh, sweet and perfectly cooked. Also highly recommend the linguine pasta with calms, along with the lobster bisque. The bisque has HUGE pieces of lobster and was the perfect appetizer. For drinks and dessert, recommend the mojito and the chocolate mouse.

Set-up was easy, the staff was incredibly attentive and friendly, and the food was excellent. A special shout-out to Caroline, who was wonderful to work with and made the entire process seamless and stress-free. Amazing local farm-to-table options that keep us and those who visit us asking to go back to that one place in Newport, I really loved! The service to guests with one or more allergies was superb!
