The lobster is cooked perfectly and bun so soft yet toasted and buttered just the right amount... Been in Newport for 2 days and already had it twice... “The absolute BEST Clamcakes on the East Coast! Grab an order of those with some homemade chowder ( white, clear or R.I. red) and it'll be a meal you'll never forget! The fish and chips and fried clams are to die for and super fresh too!!!
When you're finished eating (I suggest that you eat on the Seawall,) you can grab some dessert right next door at Schultzys.... regular and soft serve ice cream options in TONS of flavors, any way you like it 🙂“

“Honestly a great cozy breakfast spot right at the bottom of the hotel which makes it super convenient if your trying to get something to eat either first thing in the morning or at the end of your night, the food is also super good so you can't go wrong with anything you pick!“

“This was the BEST RESTAURANT we went to in Newport!! All of the seafood dishes were excellent, fresh and tasty. If you’ve ever been to the famous Oyster Bar in Grand Central station, this place is just as good. Definitely NYC prices for oysters $3.50/ oyster but that seemed to be the average price for a lot of the places in Newport.

The scallops were extremely fresh, sweet and perfectly cooked. Also highly recommend the linguine pasta with calms, along with the lobster bisque. The bisque has HUGE pieces of lobster and was the perfect appetizer. For drinks and dessert, recommend the mojito and the chocolate mouse.

“I have been a customer for 5 years and live an hour away. I hold oyster parties for my oyster loving friends so I shuck all the oysters myself. I have shucked many different kinds of oysters but AMH are a dream to work with because they are consistent. Very few if any bad ones. I love the selection too. Ordering and pickup by car easy.“

“My go-to order in most places would be a Reuben. The quality of the meat, bread and the balance with the sauerkraut, sauce & cheese say a lot about how the restaurant approaches their food. The 02878 is the best Reuben sandwich I have ever had the pleasure of eating. Now I will have to find another go-to for other restaurants because they will pale in comparison to Localz 02878.“

“I have had breakfast here w/ a group of HS graduate friends on numerous occasions.. The food was always good, and in spite of the variations ordered, delicious, hot, and served all at the same time. Waitresses were always pleasant, polite and good humored. (Image the ribbing they took from 6 to 10 older men! Friday, 3/15/24 ,my wife, my sister, my nephew and I had the dinner special for 2. Each :Cup of Chowder, 2 Clam Cakes, Fries, and Fish. EXCELLENT in every sense of the word and good portions! “We came in Sunday evening for a small dinner and dessert and sat at the bar. The bartender was attentive and filled our drinks quickly. It was pretty empty when we got there but packed when we left. The food was AMAZING. We shared the short rib special and it was so good! For dessert we had the chocolate mousse and bread pudding which were also sooooo good! The restaurant itself was beautiful. Prices were reasonable. Would definitely dine here again!“

“They were able to accommodate me on a busy weekend, even let me choose my seat even though I was alone and they had people continuing to arrive. The hostess and waitress were friendly, the food was delicious (pesto shrimp pizza), the view was nice as it's right on the water, and I chose a table that allowed me to see it properly. The band I was particularly happy about- I thought they were fantastic- they played early rock n roll, and I wish I asked their name.

It's a really relaxed atmosphere, not fancy, think old patio furniture. My table was not steady and rocked when you moved, the chairs were plastic, but I didn't mind. If you want a good meal on the water and are not picky about that, I'd recommend this place.

Sat next to window - but cold air coming thru the window made things terribly uncomfortable - had to put on our Canada goose coats to stay warm. We requested a move to the front tavern room - which we were graciously accommodated. Service and food in the tavern was excellent. We've been going to the BP for more than forty years - one of our favors in Newport. We especially like the ambience of the tavern room. Mussels and chowder are the best. But please forego the back room in winter - unless you like attic weather.“
