After a decade in Florida, I've been craving authentic Portuguese cuisine, especially lapas, and Marisqueira Azores in Fall River delivered beyond my wildest expectations! I've dined at Portuguese restaurants across the globe and throughout New England – New Bedford, Fall River, Lowell, Gloucester – and none even come close. Marisqueira is truly in a league of its own.

Marisqueira | Azores Restaurant is a small, local spot with a great vibe. The staff is kind, friendly, and welcoming, making guests feel at home. The food is cooked to perfection, using good quality products. Regulars are hooked on the Azorean Steak with garlic sauce and a fried egg on top. The salmon is some of the freshest around. Other popular dishes include fried smelts, shrimp Mozambique, surf and turf, octopus stew, and the Adam Galinha plate. The fried cod is amazing and fresh, and the littlenecks are perfect. The food is perfectly seasoned so no extra salt or pepper is needed. It is a women-owned and women-cooked restaurant, just like grandma. For those who miss the Azores, this is the place to go. The restaurant is very reasonable, with two guys eating and doggie bags to go for under 100 dollars. The service is fast and top notch.
