“We enjoyed having breakfast at this wonderful place while in Newport, RI. The people who own it and those who work there are AMAZING, friendly, and take the time to talk to customers while keeping service at the top of their list. They (from the kitchen to the front door) look like they love working there and have created a loving family environment. Of course, the line was out the door and down the street, but that was okay because everyone enjoyed visiting each other. There is just one warning, the portions are enormous. You know when my husband can't finish it, it's a lot. 🤣“

“If you’re coming to visit Newport and haven’t heard of Jo’s, it’s because it’s a hidden gem! Amazing local farm-to-table options that keep us and those who visit us asking to go back to that one place in Newport, I really loved! The service to guests with one or more allergies was superb! The chef personally came to our table on each visit to discuss what meals were safe to order. I have multiple allergies, so sometimes they would have made me my own off-the-menu special dish. I’ve never gotten sick once, and everyone who goes there with us when they visit always asks to go back on their next trip! ♥️“

“We were vacationing in Newport from Wisconsin and stopped in at Cappy’s. Sue the bartender was friendly and a wonderful bartender. The owner Joe, what can I say….what a guy! Joe saw us walking to our Airbnb and yelled at us on the street asking when we were headed back home. Joe is a gem of a bartender. He has a gift of gab and can hand out the bs too. Nice local establishment with friendly customers and bartenders. We had Dan as a bartender too and he was a friendly, great guy! “Travelling for work in Newport for a few weeks and did the local coffee shop circuit - Custom House was easily the best in the area, and in the top tier I've enjoyed anywhere. The coffee was excellent, baked goods were EXCELLENT, and the prices were spot on. It was clean and charming inside/outside without feeling pretentious or sterile like so many shops these days. An absolute must visit if you're in the area.“

“Today we made a pilgrimage to Basil Yu’s restaurant, Yagi Noodles. My son happened to see that Basil had become a successful restaurateur while he was watching one of Guy Fieri’s shows. We had become acquainted with Basil when we were all involved with a Boy Scout Troop in Manchester NH. We were disappointed to discover that Basil wasn’t at the restaurant, however we got over it when we found out it was due to a commitment to a fundraiser for the James Beard Foundation. “Just finished great meal. Huge lobster roll, high quality kids chicken and big beefy kids burger. I had the fish n chips which was amazing! Old Bay fries and what had to be a whole Cod! The best part was Peter N. He was very informative, quick in serving the kids which lets Mom and Dad relax. Such a great day and great meal.“
