Fantastic food! The place is charming, the chefs speak Italian to each other, the tables are small and close together but it did not cause a problem. The cocktails were generous. The prosciutto, goat cheese and fig jam bruschetta was flavorful and the prosciutto was lean pink. The branzino was served as the whole fish complete with head and scales, the same way it would be served in Italy and was meaty and delicious. The fish was scored to make it easy to cut and pull from the bone. The Caci d' Pepe was delicious and included a few tiny clams. The ratio of cheese to pepper was just right and the pasta was al dente. We were too full for dessert but the offerings were appealing. We loved it and will be back.
Pasta was served semi- warm and the rigatoni had hair in it. Not the usual wonderful experience and food.
Everything we had here was excellent. The Kale caesar was delicious, the pastas were delicious and the pizzas unique.
Another amazing dining experience at Bar ‘Cino! we love it here and enjoy how the menu changes with the seasons and there is always something new!
The cuisine is always excellent and l honest. Consistency is critical and Bar Cino nails it. The management should consider conducting an audit as to how to be more efficient in serving practices. Three people to act as hostesses is too many. I was told, your table will be ready as soon as it is cleaned. Once the previous diners left, it should have been cleaned. I'm not a fan of the server takes the order and someone else brings it out. It causes extra steps, I usually have a request for the server but they are not return for another five minutes. I realize the summer is the busy season, but having delineated duties could assist in making the experience better
This was my 3rd visit . First 2 times were great. This time...not so much. I ordered a kake salad and specifically asked if it was massaged with oil and not baby kale. I was told that was the case. I didn't even get kale in my salad. It was arugula😟. My friend's grilled chicken pesto was a mushy salad and not grilled chicken at all. Perhaps an off day. It was disappointing
Overall I'm finding the place its neither a sufficiently well constructed italian trattoria nor a sufficiently valued food experience. While the grilled pie is good tasting, for $20 you are getting a 15in square piece of dough with 6 splats of sauce, and scallion shavings. The clam dish was the most intricate but the clams were huge and super tough, not the little necks they should have been. The cacio & pepe, is the biggest fraud, not traditional cacio by any means, basically buttered overcooked noodles with parm. Within 7 minutes of it getting to me it was already separating. The service staff are attentive but in summary its tough to camouflage a sub par food experience with elevated delivery of it. Would go back for the occasional pizza but probably not for anything else.
not for picky eaters but they will customize pizza ( has to have cheese though) and customize pastas - delicious
Amazing service and menu! Loved it. Never disappoints. Always our first stop when we get to Newport.
Delicious as always! Ordered our favorite salad and grilled pizza! Love the staff! Love the food! Love the drinks! It's our fave NPT spot! xoxo

Small restaurant was paced at 5:45 on a Monday night so we knew it had to be good. Not a huge fan of counter seating but that was what was available. Well worth it excellent food and drink excellent service. Recommend!
Ordered multiple times through door dash - the salads and entrees (especially Chicken Milanese) are so delicious and fresh. It’s a great healthy option, but still very flavorful! Service was always very good when I went to pick up online orders. Thank you!
This modern New England Italian eatery has delicious entrees featuring seafood and pasta, grilled flatbread pizza, and amazing drinks.
Food is elegant and not overly heavy with good bright flavors, and lots of grilled flavors.
It does require a reservation (as it’s always busy even in the shoulder season)
Losses 1 atmosphere Star for being very loud.
Wow I wish every restaurant tasted this good. Everything was top quality, not overwhelming in taste or in flavors, just perfect! The cake was also amazing too
I started my meal with the prosciutto fig bruschetta, which was absolutely sensational – the combination of sweet figs and salty prosciutto was perfectly balanced and set the tone for the rest of the meal. The pizza I ordered was a prosciutto fig pizza with a super thin, grilled crust that was cut with scissors, giving it a unique texture and a delightful crunch. The flavors of the pizza surprised me with how well they blended, each bite better than the last.
I then moved on to a spaghetti carbonara that was truly outstanding – creamy, rich, and with just the right amount of peppery bite to bring it all together. It was one of the best versions of carbonara I’ve had in a while.
For dessert, I had an affogato that was good but not particularly memorable, and a lemon tart that, while okay, didn’t quite match the exceptional level of everything else we’d had up to that point.
All in all, I was genuinely surprised by the overall quality of the food at Barcino – I didn’t expect such a high standard in this spot. From the impressive bruschetta to the excellent pizza and pasta, this meal was a wonderful discovery.
