If you're looking for an outstanding dining experience in Newport, this is it. Each dish was thoughtful, beautifully presented, and delicious, the service was impeccable, and the ocean view from the dining room is incredible. I could not recommend Cara more highly.

I celebrated my 32nd birthday with my best friends by enjoying the tasting menu here. The chef came out to explain each dish. Our server was amazing and so knowledgeable as well. The ambiance was very high class but warm and welcoming at the same time, which is a hard thing to come by. The food was impeccable and I highly recommend this experience to anyone who goes to Newport.

this was one of the best experiences we've had in a long time. The food was excellent, the wine pairing was perfect!
This was the best dining experience we have ever had!! The food, service and ambience were off the charts!!
An absolute gem. We celebrated our anniversary here. Experience was mindful and stunning from start to finish. This is a really special experience. Thank you for the incredible evening.
I almost hate to post this, but we have been here twice and in comparison to the award winning places that we have been to, this place deserves a Michelin star. I just hope when they do, we can still get a reservation.
Attempted to make a reservation on a Sat and OpenTable showed an available time but on Sun - didn't notice they switched the day. Accidentally made the reservation, then immediately canceled it 5 mins later. Their policy requires cancellation 72 hours before. This was 11 days before. Yet they never refunded me. Super shady.

I highly recommend doing the 5pm Cara tasting. I know that seems early for a fancy dinner, but the entire experience takes 2.5 hours, and you'll end up sitting through the most perfect and beautiful beach sunset. If you do the 8pm it's already dark when you get there and all you see is darkness and headlights up ocean drive.

Dinner was outstanding from start to finish. It was the different takes on classic tasing menu dishes that really made the meal for us. The foie gras was served with a blueberry sauce, which differs from the classic cherries that is so common with foie gras. It was served with a soft textured lemon poundcake, instead of the classic toasted baguettes. The lemon poundcake with the creamy rich pate was heaven. We absolutely loved our Berkshire pork secreto. We had never had this cut of pork before. It is a cut from the shoulder of this breed of pig, and it was wonderfully juicy and tender, with a rich pork flavor. The main course was an American Wagyu ribeye, cooked perfectly medium rare. While pure Japanese Wagyu can be delicious, it is highly marbleized and can be a lot to handle at the end of a tasting menu. Serving the American Wagyu hybrid instead was perfect, as it is a delicious cut, without being too rich. We ended with a chocolate, blueberry and black tea dessert. It was the perfect desert to end with, not overly sweet. I also liked that my final wine paring was not overly sweet, as a lot of restaurants serve very sweet wines with desserts, that for my taste, seems to be too much sweetness to have with dessert. Michelin does not currently rate restaurants in Rhode Island, but Cara was on par with any of the Michelin stared restaurants we have dined at over the years.
We had an amazing experience at the chef's tasting at Cara. Great service, personalized attention, spectacular courses, nice wine selection. In short, no detail was overlooked. Would definitely do this again. Admittedly splashy, but the quality, service, and ambience make it a worthy splurge.

The setting was beautiful and it was an experience. The food was good, but I expected more because of the high price tag.
