Enjoyed the atmosphere and our waitress was nice. Appetizers were great but entrees were terrible. A piece of toro tuna absolutely charred and my scallops had no caramelization served over gummy pasta. Pretty much inedible at an almost $40 price tag! Eating out is too expensive to waste on a meal like this

We had a wonderful dinner during Restaurant Week. Without question, it was the best combination of value and we experienced. The $30pp 3 course meal was delicious. We had mussels and crispy tuna eggroll. For the main we had cod/polenta puttanesca and pasta w/white clam sauce. Both big servings and cooked perfectly. Dessert was crème brûlée and gelato. Service was friendly. The only negative was the noise level, a little loud and close. Still a very enjoyable evening. We will be back.

Hooked is amazing. Chef is from the now defunked Shells and Scales which has new owners. Muscles were large and juicy. Husband had the scrod he said was amazing. I had the seafood fra diablo it was amazing. I had it for one person it could have fed three people. It was so good. Service was friendly and on point . Plan on going back next year in Newport. Good luck with the new place you will be successful.

We have been long time customers of Scales and Shells restaurant (every visit to Newport). When we heard that the staff moved to Hooked, we tried it on our next visit. We were happy we did....same excellent seafood, same friendly staff, really nice casual atmosphere. Will be back next visit to Newport.

We had the halibut special, shrimp linguini and fish and chips. The grilled zucchini lacked any seasoning but overall the meal was solid and I would return.

Had a great meal. The staff was formerly at another restaurant down the road and we headed there to check it out and support them. GREAT food. GREAT atmosphere. AMAZING staff. Food and service were really exceptional. Will return and highly recommend.

Junior from the old Scales and Shells took the beloved old menu and brought it here when the new owners of Scales did the unthinkable and ended the old menu….and it’s perfect!
Please go to Hooked it’s FANTASTIC. It is exactly the proper and original Scales menu with a few welcome additions. And no subtractions.
