Wonderful spot in Washington Square, Newport, RI. Al fresco, outdoor dining on a nice day, and a beautiful bar with lots of seating inside. Staff was so friendly and offered recommendations when we asked. New Chef Marianna, is making delicious food so you need to stop in for a fresh taste of this Newport Restaurant Group taqueria. We really loved the Nachos with Chicken Tinga, Queso Fundido, Tacos and Fajitas. Highly recommend the blood orange margaritas!

I have been here a few times now & I keep coming back. It was a last minute decision to come last week for my friend's birthday but she needs to find someone laces with dishes that are Gluten Free. We didn't have a reservation but I'd suggest making one as it tends to fill up fast.. after mentioning to our server that it was my friend's bday, a bday card mysteriously showed up at our table signed by the people who work there, which was sweet.. Oir server brought us some homemade chips and queso type dip..it's tasty and soon you get that hot spicy kick.. she ordered a blood orange margarita, which is delicious..I've ordered this before but stuck with water that night.. she ordered the taco plate (3 tacos of your choice) and I have always wanted to to try their La Vecina Burrito filled with/chicken tinga, lime-cilantro rice, pinto beans, cilantro, onion, queso, topped with cotija, crema, cucumber pico de gallo. It honestly was the best and biggest burrito I've ever had.. I could only eat half enough for work lunch leftovers the next day.. we checked out the dessert menu but decided against it however, this restaurant connects to the Italian restaurant Bar Cino and our server brought us a surprise GF chocolate coffee budino, not a mousse yet not a pudding.. it was like eating a silky chocolate piece of heaven.. I had been thinking about that dessert ever since.. so should you go here? Absolutely!!

Everything about this place was great! Went on a busy Saturday night with a reservation and were seated right away. Loved all the painted murals on the walls. The mango margaritas were tasty and the beef empanadas were amazing. My group also ordered the enchiladas and tacos and everything was on point. Our server was attentive and so friendly, will definitely be back :)

The food was terrible!!!! #getadifferentcookThe salsa was homemade but tasted awful. The beans were overly salty, and the pork tacos lacked flavor. The glowing five-star reviews must be fake. It's definitely not authentic Mexican cuisine!

Short version: great amount of food, everything tasted amazing, great prices for the area!My wife and I were visiting and got the food shown in the photo to go and ate at a near by park. We were very impressed with the tacos (our favorite being fish, than pastor, than shrimp. Short rib needed a sauce or something extra)Both orders came with awesome chips and salsa, and the kids enchiladas were great. Beans also note worthy :)All around a great place to grab a bite, would recommend! Can’t speak toward the dining in experience. Everyone seemed friendly though.

Always good food and great service. The nachos are the BEST! Only recommendation, if you are sensitive to heat level ask before you order. They will make each dish less spicy if that's your preference.

Bad drinks, worse food. Ordered a burrito and it had so much salt, I couldn’t eat it. The chicken taco smelled so bad I lost my appetite. Drinks were bad, could not drink more than a sip. Still paid for food we didn’t eat and drinks we didn’t drink. Waitress/service was good.Vegetarian options: There’s one taco that’s veg and that too was brought together with other non-veg tacos. We had no idea which was which, would not recommend for vegetarians.

Love this place. We're lucky to have such a great restaurant like this nearby. The quality is top and always consistent. It's a perfect stop before a movie or night our downtown.

WASTE OF MONEY!! I was so excited to try this restaurant out, only to leave disappointed. I got pozole, tamales & a burger. The food was hella salty for some reason—like, uncomfortably salty. Imagine grabbing a handful of salt and just mixing into the food. That’s literally what it felt like the cook(s) did. I managed to get the through the pozole but when it came to the salty, dry tamales I just couldn’t. It was so bad! Like why would you do that to the food you’re serving? Do you not taste test prior to serving this food??Anyway, I had ordered off the appetizer menu during their happy hour (1/2 off appetizers). The waitress knew I had ordered off the appetizer menu expecting it to be half off. Got the bill and it was full price. She says “it’s only half off at the bar”. The bar was like 1-2 steps in front of us. We were the only ones there in the restaurant along with one other smaller group on the other side. So you’re telling me if would have sat in a different seat 1-2 steps away I would’ve got half off the food I ordered? Okay. That was the dumbest thing. The waitress should have mentioned that ahead of time. The back of the menu says “bar only”, yes, but I also got a margarita so I was thinking because I ordered a drink made at the bar it would’ve count since the waitress didn’t correct me when ordering.Yeahhhh, I would not go back there.

Food was ok. Salsa was different. Usually you get a red salsa and a green salsa but this was like red salsa mixed with sour cream, not a big fan. Had shrimp tacos, shrimp very spicy and was very good. Expected the shrimp bowl to have the same spicy shrimp but not at all, just deep fried. My partner had a burrito and said it was ok. Nice atmosphere.

Very friendly and attentive service. The manager even surprised us with a dessert on the house since it was our first time there, very nice. Loved the rustic combined with eclectic atmosphere also.

This was our first visit. The nachos and salsa were very good. The guacamole was a little salty. We had enchiladas and the taco plate(3 tacos). The enchiladas were good. The corn shells were homemade and sturdy. The tacos were just okay. The corn taco shells were sturdy so they did not fall apart. The sweet potato one had way too much sauce which overwhelmed the very small pieces of sweet potato, the pork one was very dry and over salty and the short rib one was bland. The manager Raul was very friendly, asked how our meal was, if we had been there before, etc. It's a fun little restaurant and it was very busy.
