Our waitress was excellent- attentive and friendly. The food was absolutely delicious! Will definitely return again.

Food was incredible, service was awful and none of the staff seemed to care. Watched other tables walk out because no one came to take their order. The kicker is there was only 4 other tables when we were there.

Food was a 9/10 but service was terrible & slow, no sense of urgency & we're not efficient with clearing tables. We also watched two other parties get up & walk away because no one greeted their table in over 20min. We probably would've left too but we knew everywhere else was fully committed for reservations for the evening & did not feel like waiting.
It's exactly what you'd expect for a hotel restaurant. Food was fine, it did the job. The dining room was huge and only three parties were there at peak dinner time, so it was a little awkward.
I don’t recommend the old fashioned drink it was watered down. Steaks were okay and so with the tuna bowl, however the charred octopus was really good. Great service overall.

Food at dinner was delicious and it's a nice spot overlooking the water with an upscale hotel atmosphere. But the service was unfortunately abysmal—we had to wait 15 minutes after our reservation to be seated (including several minutes with no one at the host stand), had to ask for a server to come to our table (after 20 minutes), ask for a drink menu, and ask for plates after our appetizers came out (the plates never arrived). No plates or glasses were cleared, and no one ever came by to ask how our meal was/if we needed anything - the only interaction after ordering was receiving the check. Our party was not pleased and would likely never return based on the (lack of) service.
2 hour meal for 4 we were able to get one drink. Our waitress was fired mid meal, we think, for a verbal altercation with another table We were told she went home sick. Which is not what you want to hear about the person who just poured your water. What looked like a more senior Marriott manager came in and was bussing tables but never approached us to apologize for the painfully slow service. The rest of the staff were doing their best but just seemed overwhelmed. Very disappointing for a marriott run restaurant.
This was our second time eating here and we thoroughly enjoyed it! The location is very convenient to the harbor water taxi and shopping. Our food was prepared perfectly abd our server was super friendly. We look forward to eating here again.
Wait staff was very rude. They seemed angry. The manager seemed nice, but isn't watching closely enough. No water refills. No smiles. I personally said thank you to two members of the wait staff upon receiving my food. No response. Rude interactions between the wait staff and members of my party. Food was below average. How does this place have over 4 stars?!?! Why does Marriott tolerate it? Worst restaurant experience in awhile. Run far away!

We definitely eat here at least one night each time we are in Newport! We both opted for the salmon this visit and it was wonderful! GREAT JOB!

Decent dinner. Service was fine. Food was OK but not exceptional given the prices. Wine list limited to some popular wines, but wowee, a huge markup for what they are. It's a hotel, but we were able to get restaurant reservations on a busy night in Newport, RI. They did a good job with remodeling, but seems it could use something to seem less like a hotel restaurant. Server was attentive and timely. They have cooks, not a chef, so it is decent, but tourist food.
Waitress was absent whenever we needed anything. We were not the only table that had problems with her.
The service was excellent, and we had a nice seat by the window overlooking the harbor. As Newport, Rhode Island has a plethora of excellent restaurants , I would not normally eat at a hotel restaurant. However, I was pleasantly surprised, and was good. We ate at the Main Sale because most all of the top 10-15 restaurants were pretty much packed. This would not be in my top 16 choice in the Newport , RI area down by the harbor, as my wife and I both felt the quantity of food for the price was not justified. Our server was very good, food came out promptly , but menu limited.
Wedding party at hotel so we were told 15 mins wait for a drink. Our dinner table was set for breakfast, complete with marmalades and jams. Did not feel like a restaurant. Got up and left so we didn't get chance to try the food.!
The service was phenomenal, and the views are unbeatable. However, it was very very, very expensive.
