We definitely eat here at least one night each time we are in Newport! We both opted for the salmon this visit and it was wonderful! GREAT JOB!

Decent dinner. Service was fine. Food was OK but not exceptional given the prices. Wine list limited to some popular wines, but wowee, a huge markup for what they are. It's a hotel, but we were able to get restaurant reservations on a busy night in Newport, RI. They did a good job with remodeling, but seems it could use something to seem less like a hotel restaurant. Server was attentive and timely. They have cooks, not a chef, so it is decent, but tourist food.

As Newport, Rhode Island has a plethora of excellent restaurants , I would not normally eat at a hotel restaurant. However, I was pleasantly surprised, and was good. We ate at the Main Sale because most all of the top 10-15 restaurants were pretty much packed. This would not be in my top 16 choice in the Newport , RI area down by the harbor, as my wife and I both felt the quantity of food for the price was not justified. Our server was very good, food came out promptly , but menu limited.

Wedding party at hotel so we were told 15 mins wait for a drink. Our dinner table was set for breakfast, complete with marmalades and jams. Did not feel like a restaurant. Got up and left so we didn't get chance to try the food.!

The food here was delicious! We were a bit disappointed that they were not able to accommodate a group of 5 to sit by the window despite the fact the restaurant was basically empty. Most of the tables by the window were for 2. They could have easily pulled up another table. Instead we were seated in a semi circle type booth which isn't ideal for a fancy dressed up dinner and having to scooch in and be stuck unless you're on the end. The food was amazing so I will be going back but the service throughout the night was subpar at best.

This place was great! The food and portions were really good. Everything was delicious. We could barely finish the meal but we enjoyed it so much we powered through. The staff was amazing and friendly and very attentive. We really had a nice time and I would visit them again.

Excellent service however both of our scallop dishes had a strong burnt taste. The staff and manager gave us the opportunity to try another dish. This time my wife and I chose a flat bread to share. The burnt taste from our scallops still permeated our palate so it made it difficult to enjoy the flat bread. Service and staff were great, the food not so much.

Never been so embarrassed in my life. The waitress ran after us down the street accusing us of taking the receipt. I always fill out both and leave them. No customer service never came back to check on us. Never will go back and would recommend it either
Very convenient for hotel guests! We were tired and it was great to have this restaurant available. Clam chowder and chicken caesar salad were standouts and kids enjoyed burger, chicken fingers and fries. Service was great, ambiance just ok. Prices were what you would expect from a hotel.

Our waiter, Carolyn, was excellent. We got the Tuna Poke bowl, Braised Short Rib, Calamari, and Clam Chowder. All the food was very good. Prices were a bit high, but about as expected for a resort hotel restaurant in Newport. Not the best value but a good choice, and convenient for hotel guests. Would dine again.

My meal was cold. Neighboring table was seated after us and served before us. I ordered a 2nd beer which was not served. Server was pleasant enough. Not sure we would recommend or go back. We live in Newport so we got a discount.

I enjoyed a perfect bowl of oatmeal, fresh fruit, and muffin on three mornings. They left us with two full pots of coffee, one decaf, for us to draw from as needed. The large windows and morning sunshine were nice. Friendly wait staff.

The good reviews are what sent me here, and the food was very good. The restaurants design was beautiful, and the views were gorgeous. Unfortunately, the staff was underwhelming and some what magicians as they consistently disappeared when needed. we tried to split the checks, and that was another issue. the staff seemed undertrained and uninterested in providing even average service. This type of attitude is generally driven by leadership, which was also absent. While the food and decor were good, I can not in good conscience recommend this place. Marriot, you are better than this. Please read this and heed it because great service is what your brand is known for. I am a Bonvoy member and only stay at these properties, so let's right the ship and get the crew up to the levels I and others expect of your brand
