Never been so embarrassed in my life. The waitress ran after us down the street accusing us of taking the receipt. I always fill out both and leave them. No customer service never came back to check on us. Never will go back and would recommend it either

Very convenient for hotel guests! We were tired and it was great to have this restaurant available. Clam chowder and chicken caesar salad were standouts and kids enjoyed burger, chicken fingers and fries. Service was great, ambiance just ok. Prices were what you would expect from a hotel.

Our waiter, Carolyn, was excellent. We got the Tuna Poke bowl, Braised Short Rib, Calamari, and Clam Chowder. All the food was very good. Prices were a bit high, but about as expected for a resort hotel restaurant in Newport. Not the best value but a good choice, and convenient for hotel guests. Would dine again.

My meal was cold. Neighboring table was seated after us and served before us. I ordered a 2nd beer which was not served. Server was pleasant enough. Not sure we would recommend or go back. We live in Newport so we got a discount.

I enjoyed a perfect bowl of oatmeal, fresh fruit, and muffin on three mornings. They left us with two full pots of coffee, one decaf, for us to draw from as needed. The large windows and morning sunshine were nice. Friendly wait staff.

Kid-friendliness: Families seemed to be enjoying their dining experience.

The good reviews are what sent me here, and the food was very good. The restaurants design was beautiful, and the views were gorgeous. Unfortunately, the staff was underwhelming and some what magicians as they consistently disappeared when needed. we tried to split the checks, and that was another issue. the staff seemed undertrained and uninterested in providing even average service. This type of attitude is generally driven by leadership, which was also absent. While the food and decor were good, I can not in good conscience recommend this place. Marriot, you are better than this. Please read this and heed it because great service is what your brand is known for. I am a Bonvoy member and only stay at these properties, so let's right the ship and get the crew up to the levels I and others expect of your brand

Booked because Prix-Fixe menu looked good for restaurant week. Food was decent. Service seemed disorganized despite having limited customers on a Saturday night. Loud party going on towards back of restaurant. Lighting kept switching on low to dim while dining which was rather annoying. Noted on reservation dinner was for a birthday celebration which no one noticed. Not the best dining experience nor the worst. There are so many great restaurants in Newport. Last time I will be back to this one.

View is wonderful. Food, awful. The buffet is $30, yet it is cold and bad quality. There’s plenty of places nearby that are much cheaper and good quality!

My husband was starving and wanted to decide quickly where to eat. This restaurant was ok, but was too overpriced for what it was. It was loud considering there were only three tables being waited on, one with a small child. Usually I am very patient and tolerant of children crying, but not so that night I guess. The appetizer was average. I ordered a $40 pasta entree and it came with SIX small scallops.

The food was very good but meal was ruined by a rude waitress. We asked for mustard and she reacted horribly. The manager intervened and attempted to complete the service. Our check was thrown onto the table. She didn’t offer dessert or a refill on my wine. The manager apologized and stated that everyone is entitled to have a bad day. But he didn’t attempt any adjustments to our bill for our unpleasant experience. The service was so rude that the people at the next table even noticed. I felt like I was in a diner in a city neighborhood rather than an elegant Marriott establishment. They should be ashamed!!!!!!!!

We specifically picked this restaurant because of their gluten free options. When I began asking the server questions it was clear there were not safe options on the menu (despite being marked GF)

Restaurant felt a little bit like an afterthought of space usage at the hotel. Staff was attentive ambience was missing. Only saving Grace was a view across a parking lot to the wharf and the water. For a quick burger when you're at the hotel, but they need to do more to attract outside customers . I wouldn't book again

I initially wrote this as an email but couldn’t find a contact email, so I’m copying and pasting here:

To whom it may concern,

I was a patron at your restaurant this evening (6/1/2024) and I wanted to reach out to make you aware of an incident I witnessed, as well as our experience with our server.

Our server’s name was Caroline, and from the moment we sat down and she introduced herself, it was clear to us that she was very unhappy and did not want to be there or to be serving us. There was such an air of misery around her that we contemplated leaving before we got our drinks and food. What was even more upsetting was that we witnessed her being extremely rude to one of her coworkers. I’m not sure of her name, but she was a young blonde woman. Caroline seemed to snap at the young woman and said “Are you going to do anything, or just stand there?” It made us feel very uncomfortable watching her treat a colleague like this, especially in front of paying customers. Due to Caroline’s behavior, we will not be returning to MainSail, which is a shame because the food was actually very good. I hope that the restaurant manager will take this matter seriously and discuss this incident with her.
