I’m done with this place. The food is so mid and the prices are what a high end steakhouse would charge. For example I got steak frites, and the way the menu describes it is like a french bistro style steak frites with an amazing pan sauce… it’s literally just a small steak with A1 sauce dabbed on the plate. I could blow that away at home. Follow the sear up with shallots. Deglaze with red wine. Add beef stock, garlic, lea and perrins, butter, let reduce. Pour the rested steak juices back in. Toss in some chopped parsley. They charge $35 for a small steak, A1 sauce, and some fries that are lazily tossed with a little garlic and parm.

We've been all over New England over the past week, eating fantastic food, and this meal was a highlight of our trip. The food was great. I had the cod risotto, and it was one of the best risotto's I've ever had, which says a lot. Our service was outstanding, I can't recommend this place enough.
Kid-friendliness: They do have a kids menu, although it's not on the website.
3 friends plus myself were seated as soon as we walked in (this was around 8pm on a saturday night by the way) and our hostess was incredibly friendly. food was excellent, cooked perfectly, and came to the table really quickly. pricing is very fair, especially considering you're in the heart of newport. the only real complaints i would raise are the dim lights and loud crowd.
Parking: i was not actually parked right in front of the restaurant but plenty of spots out front are available

Alex was our fabulous server. We were a table of five and then six (all from Newport) that made Alex work! We sent her back and forth I can’t even count how many times. She was patient, knowledgeable and just damn good! Everyone of us liked our meals and the drinks were great! Great night all in all.

Malt was great! The word that I would use is inspired. There are a thousand pubs you could visit so why Malt? The food was super yummy, drinks were clever and tasty (make your own Manhattan) and the desserts rocked (my kids attacked the Malt Bomb like it was going to escape the table). Speaking of kids, they could not have been better to my little ones. A+++ for our delightful server and chef who took care of them.
