Sometimes you just need a good burger and bar - and Malt delivered! Cozy bar/restaurant with an awesome drink/cocktail/beer selection - and was pretty packed at 830 on a Saturday night. I had the Malt burger and it was great / cooked perfectly and tasty with bacon, pickled onion jam, mustard aioli, etc - the kitchen knows how to upgrade a burger! Draft Beer selection was impressive - I particularly loved this Pilsner from VT. Waiter was great - and they must make a mean espresso martini - as we saw a lot of them coming out from the bar! Menu is varied - and prob want to try the cod/risotto next time. Great experience and loved the ‘whole package’ at Malt!

Our food was perfect. Service was friendly, the atmosphere is great whether you want to grab a quick bite a drink at the bar or a nice dinner. As a brewery owner myself, I cannot say enough about this restaurant. I was in a party of three. We have been traveling New England for five weeks now we’ve been eating out two meals a day for weeks this by far was my favorite meal. I had the spinach strawberry salad. Potato leek, soup, braised, short rib, and polished it off with the best crème brûlée I’ve ever had. FYI, this is the first review I have left. Cool fact each table has different salt and pepper shakers on them so if you want to take in a unique set, they’ll be glad to take them a display them on the table..

English bar with a super nice ambience. Bar is something to admire with tons of nice spirits. Cocktails were superb. The food was above average, very tasty and plentiful. The four plates our party had were great. My fish and chips was almost like being back in England. Overall, highly recommend this place.

This is my “go to” place in Newport. Easy access on Broadway. Walking distance to most accommodations. Food is consistently excellent. Service is top notch. No seasonal turnover of staff like most area restaurants. Great selection of beer on tap. Did I mention the owner and several bartenders have lovely Irish accents. If you’re solo and just want to have a quick dinner at the bar - this is the place. Avoid the tourist traps downtown!

My man and I had a friend come with us for dinner. Brian was our server and he was FANTASTIC! He seemed to know exactly when we needed more drinks, when to clear our plates and was patient with us as we chatted way beyond our meals.The food was perfect all the way! Fish cooked perfectly, chicken sandwich was so damn good! And our friends chicken and vegetables were perfect!This place is adorably cozy- we ate outside was enjoyed the scenery. The drinks great and the bathroom was super clean! Can’t wait to come back! Five stars for Brian!!
