During the summer months this place becomes VERY packed. We came on the off-season and was excited to try some food and get a drink or two, been dying to come here for years. We were one of maybe 3 or 4 tables at the time.
The atmosphere was wonderful and a nice relief to the chilling air that was picking up. Very cozy.

This place is not cheap,the food was good quality but cold upon arrival so had obviously been standing for sometime before reaching us.
Warm plates are a basic requirement at any level.
Our last meal on our vacation did not sadly live up to expectations.

Midtown is hands down the BEST oyster bar restaurant in Rhode Island, there is no competition!
We discovered this restaurant shortly after they first opened and have been dining here regularly ever since, whether its to cap off a day trip in Newport or to celebrate a special occasion, Midtown never disappoints.
I would not call myself an oyster "connoisseur", but I've had enough oysters to know that they have the largest and most diverse variety...
